It was an option in VX Series 1, so you may just not have it.
But for it to say Traction Off, there must be a toggle somewhere.. From memory it on the right hand side of the steering wheel near the fog lights.

The only utes to have traction control are the new VZ Maloo's, so you don't have it to turn off

i was under the impression that NO HOLDEN utes were avalible with Traction control.

Yeah I think you're right...only HSV Z-Series.
If it says Trac-off but doesn't actually have TCS, you might need to get it looked with Tech2 (at a Holden dealership or specialist like some of the forum sponsors).
Has it had a dash cluster swap? That could be a cause.

Geez that's a new one! Trac off light is on and yet no TC was ever fitted to the ute range, bar the VZ HSV's. Febs made a valid point, maybe it needed a new cluster during its life and yet it wasnt fully configured once it was in dash perhaps. Holden will fix that in bout 5mins with tech 2.
The reason you wont find Traction control on the Holden utes is something to do with the ABS system I think I recall.

Also to do with the "brake bias" valving on the rear suspension as well. for some reason they could not get it and TC to work properly together so they just left the TC off.

Ive got a VU SS and its also on the dash. The lights wont come on and there is no button but I assume it is there due to the fact that VU's use a VX dash. Also as someone else said (from what I have read in the past) it has to do with the ABS. If I remember correctly it had something to do with the rear ABS system being linked and not used seperately for each wheel. Can't remember the details but it has been discussed on here before in detail, so try the search engine.
Cheers,

I think what Loco means is that the dash cluster has the TRAC OFF lamp, but it is not lit.
Basically, the utes get the same dash as their sedan counterparts, and hence the same gauges etc, even though not all of the lights and warnings are used, like the Traction Control warning light...
So if the lamp ain't lit, down worry about it, coz it is just a carry over from the sedan, so the feature is not actually available, hence no TC button...

Hmmm maybe, but in his first thread he said he can't find a button to turn it off, so we can safely assume it is lit (highly unlikely but). Loco get back on here and explain it!
