Got the call I was after this morning, my 05 SV8 has arrived at the dealer.All going well I should be taking delivery tomorrow arvo. This will be interesting cos I haven't even driven one, no test drive or nothing, but as my handle suggests I just wanted one!! I will let you know how she goes

I too didnt test drive before purchasing, it just makes that first experience so much better

Congrats mate. Trust me, you wont be disapointed when you hop in and drive away from the dealer. I already put over 1000 km's on the odo, and still am loving every second i'm behind the wheel. ;) What color did you get it in?

Excellent news and not before time.

My lease company indicated mine will be end of April. That means only 4 weeks from order. I don't think so.

I didn't test drive either. I have driven Gen 3 6 speeds in the past though.

Its now tomorrow afternoon JUSWANONE so I can imagine you are out driving the new beast............Let us know what you think...........I have brought my delivery forward a week so now get it next Tuesday..........Cant wait for that........Hope it is all you expect...........

Well what can I say, This has been better than I imagined for all those weeks!!
Firstly let me say I was fortunate enough to drive the bosses new BA Falcon this morning and I was surprized at how tinny and rattlesome this thing was it had 5300k's on the clock mind,It's no XR6 or anything but I had looked in on the thing a couple of times and thought if the Holdens are this well appointed I'll be happy. It was very ordinary indead as far as plastic which looks a metalic finish goes , as far as hand break handle , shifter handle ( auto) ect. So with a drive of a few k's (Yeah I give it shit) only I was well and truly primed for my arvo delivery. It had some grunt I'll give it that.

Three hours later after much signing of papers and anticipation building to fever pich I lay eyes on the sparkling Silver SV8 .....mine .....after all those signatures, after all those weeks. I was impressed with the car big time the response and handling is like nothing I had experienced before and it was a delight cruising along the freeway back to work. But I'll give it 5000k's and see if the metalic looking plastic starts to rattle and look tinny like the bosses BA.

I have a digital camera but don't know how to post photo's so if someone can help I'll gladly share some pics.

Also thanks to all on this forum who have put up with my rants and raves and also for the advice I have recieved It is a great site.
