Jacking up a Monaro!

Thought I might take the rear wheels off my Monaro.Never jacked up an I.R.S. rear end before.With solid axle,just put my trolley jack under diff,lifted car,then lowered it onto jackstands placed under rear jacking points.Can I place jack under diff to lift?,when car rests on jackstands will I.R.S. hang down ok,or could some damage be done?Sorry for such a dumb question,but better safe than sorry.

You can jack under the diff in a commodore no sweat. Just leave it on the jack and maybe 'axle' stands under the standard side jack points.

Yeah jacking from the diff is fine. But like you said, use stands once you have jacked it up. :)
