Got a call from my mate (he's also a member on this forum and probably didn't post up as he just moved house and wouldn't have any net access yet) Saturday morning while I was heading out to a job and he goes on telling me that he walked past a fully decked out VZ SS pursuit car with all the stickers and lights at a car wash and walked past again when it had the bonnet up and noticed the PWR blower sitting on top of the motor.
He tried asking some questions but the kind officer clammed up and refused to let him take pics with his camera phone.
So for those in melbourne and especially the SE suburbs, just be on the lookout and be careful. I'd hate for any forum members to find out they were run down by a blown pursuit car at then end of it.

Either way take it as you like.
I'm already blacklisted for something else, I don't need to piss them off more by outrunning them.

But you can have all the power you want and it still won't go fast coz of driver ability or in some cases inability :D lets just hope he is not so good and if someone has the chance to get the id/chassis no it would be great to have for the record so if it comes up for sale in the future ou no that thats the one that had the blower on it and you could do the same mod straight away
Knowing that it could handle it :)

How sure was your mate Drizzt? OHS dont like this sort of stuff and my link at Dawson street knows nothing about it.
Dawson St is where all Vic police cars are converted.

I would have taken a pic, regardless of what the cop said - its a public place!

Could this be a test mule for the HSV supercharger kit (I think it is PWR who is working on it?) Wonder if it is emission compliant?

Not just that its Public Property and Tax PAYER FUNDED :bash:

Zactly!
You are allowed to take pics in public places freely.
(But if you are taking pics of kiddies you will get :nutkick: )
It all sounds a bit weird, unless the Plod are doing some "evaluation", or PWR offered them one as a real life durability test.

May have been mentioned on here before,
But there used to be a GTO Coupe cop car getting around Melbourne, and its plates were something like HSV GTO. Made me want to join the force :D

Although I'm from Adelaide, I saw this car 2 yrs ago when I was over there for the MotoGP. Went out for dinner on Chapel St and lo 'n' behold there she was! A bright yellow GTO coupe with the checkers down the side just like all those fancy PR paint job pursuit vehicles your government wastes it's money on.

You obviously missed the NUMEROUS threads that detailed that the GTO, and the flashy painted Fords were donated by the manufacturers for use during the campaign. None of your tax dollars were wasted on them (except maybe the fuel they used)

Yep, not to mention the Alfa, Mini, Z3, Viper, Smart roadster etc... that have all been Australian marked Police Cars at one stage.
This VZ SS is an entirely different kettle of fish by the sounds of it...but as they say - TTIWWOP (This Thread Is Worthless WithOut Pics :D).
Cheers,

Makes me wonder what you would have done had the cop quickly grabbed your phone and promptly threw it to the ground...??
I have dealt with heaps of cops (my uncle is a detective) and one thing they absolutely hate is being ignored when they tell you something.

Agreed, as it is an offence to disobey a direction of a police force...
..unfortunately I have had an infringement notice stating exactly that :( , and wasnt traffic related.

The other day I was driving on the southern expressway (in Adelaide) and saw a VZ exec commodore with twin exhaust pipes. At first I thought I was seeing things as my understanding is the SV8 is the cheapest way to get into a Commodore V8. Well checked out

and down the bottom is a couple of photos of marked and unmarked SA cop cars. Make a great sleeper, once they reach the auctions

Not just that its Public Property and Tax PAYER FUNDED :bash:
You'll probably find if it exists, it's an evaluation vehicle which has been loaned to the Dept for a period of time at no expense ot the taxpayer at all. NSW and Vic Police get all sorts of vehicles with varying mods to evaluate from time to time and have done for ages.
Hell, I can remember years ago Vic had a VK 5.0 V8 Turbo!!
I wouldn't be surprised if it does exist, as HSV is about to start Supercharging V8's in conjunction with PWR and back it with full factory warranty.

Actually the cars were purchased by the TAC (Vic Govt CTP insurer)
So they were paid for out of my insurance premium!

Yes you are right, I tuned a VZ exec LS1 (cop car) last week. They would be pretty good at the strip too, being lighter than the SS and SV8....

But with only 225 Turanzas on 15 inch rims, they do have problems getting the power down and go through rear tyres about as often they fill up the tank.

So it's an SS without mags, boot lid spoiler and fog lights. Sounds pretty reasonable @ $22k.

No the police specials are an exec with FE2, side airbags, police wheels, and LS1. Interior is all exec. No sports seats, leather wheel, climate control etc.

Yeah I know. I was just being brief.
I've seen a couple of them. They are identical to the Police Pack V6 sedan but with a V8 under the bonnet.
Throw on an SS stering wheel and some SV-6 alloys and you'd have a very neat machine.
