colour looks :spew: on the picture. Looks like a faded paint job from an impulse.

Same thing happened with Hothouse and Impulse, certainly a little disapointing

In a Holden showroom at Rushcutters Bay Sydney sits a new VZ sedan in the deep red of the last CV8R. I got to say I like it. Fresh is a word I would use to describe it. Only an Acclaim or Lumina too.

yeah I've seen an SS in that red color parked near fishermens bend, looks great.
Hmmm tempted to get smiths to ring them and see if they could get it down to sell to me...eheh I been thinking of a lumina

apart from the test vehicles, it's good to see that devil is still unique to the monaro....

AS IT SHOULD BE

SCIFIRE - It would certainly have a presence on the road. It has been dressed up with HBD 'L' series wheels and lowered ride hight. Does not have any Tupperware on the body either (no side skirts or pram handles on the boot lid). Very smoooooth.

yeah i like a lot of the colours that they bring out for the coupes but i feel they should only be for manaro/hsv coupe.

I think Turismo should of stayed only on the coupe's.
Dont think it will look any good on the sedan's.

on a side note did anyone hear that the only yellow SV6000 was stolen from a TNT depot and was used in ram raids, and it's the only devil VZ sedan in Australia, smart move!!!

The Turismo thing is a shame.

I always thought that Tiger should have been an SS/HSV colour only, but it was certainly cheapened by being on so many base models.

Yeah, these colors should remain 'Hero' colors.

But I guess there are two meanings to the word 'Hero'.

Might be showing my ignorance here, but was Impulse ever going to be particularly exclusive? I thought it was on the SV6 from the outset.

abi - I saw that red sedan at Rushcutters Bay too. Looks great.

A new neighbour is a Holden Exec and his new wheels are a VZ SV6 in Devil Yellow - stands out. Will try and find out their intentions if going into production or a one off?

Sorry Devil!

It was originally Monaro Exclusive withthe Series 3, but the VZ commodores came out a year later with it

If you look on the inside of the front cover of the May Motor magazine, you will see what I believe to be a Turismo blue SV8.

seriously though, how could you still believe after all these years that a colour is going to be an exclusive colour.

also, does it really matter?

i remember back when i was into mountain biking before i got the car a survey that appeared in a magazine. there were a few "joke" questions at the end for a laugh.

one of them was - when choosing a bike, what is the most important thing that affects your decision? -
-components
-weight
-price
-colour

does the fact that another car is the same colour as yours make your car any lesser?

Holden has a tradition from VY onwards to borrow the hero colour of the superseded Monaro. It was a predictable move. Still Turismo is a hideous colour that makes the Commodore look like 1994 model Hyundai Excel.

does the fact that another car is the same colour as yours make your car any lesser?Vh-holden, I think it matters when you've forked out big bucks for Holden or HSV's top of the range sports car, which is the Monaro and VZ GTO respectively. How old is the color anyway... 6 months old? I've never even seen one on the road yet, only one at a dealer and one at the motor show. You'd think Holden would have waited a little longer than that. Personally I think it should have remained exclusive to those coupes because it helped make them stand out more, like yellow devil does, and it's been used extensively in their VZ marketing. With hordes of Turismo Mica SV6s on the streets how's a Monaro owner who got in early and bought what they thought would be an exclusive color supposed to feel? I'd like to hear Mynaro's comments if he's reading this.

but do you buy a car for it's colour so everyone can see it and go "ooh, he has a turismo car" or do you buy it because it is a good car?

but do you buy a car for it's colour so everyone can see it and go "ooh, he has a turismo car" or do you buy it because it is a good car?My favorite is black, a low profile choice, what do you reckon? :)

But I recognize how important colors are to some people. Why are most Ferraris red? Why are most Lambos yellow? Turismo is an eyecatching color (some will like it, some won't, but it will always get attention) and I think it should be reserved for the coupes. Fair enough if they used it for the Clubsport and possibly the SS, but the SV6? I think it's a bit of a stretch. If you had $60-80K to drop on a new ride, would color be important to you? I think it is important and Holden should have waited longer before offering Turismo to sedan buyers, if at all. It's a slap in the face to Monaro buyers who got in early and waited for the color.

I may be ranting but I believe we sometimes forget that Holden is in busness to make $$$$$$. Most of the time it is done by perceived value adding ExecV8 vs SV8 vs SS for example.

Exclusive colours ? it is mostly a tactic to get demand up IMHO. Once demand is there make it available at a cost and bingo more profit. Just like the gradual kw increase in engine power with every new series, the non compatability of the LS2 ECM and the 190 alloytech not being available in every model it is all there to protect their business model only.

On saying that it's not a bad thing it's just something we sometimes forget.
Cheers

The only thing that gets me, is that in the design forum, Holden was saying the reason we have such a poor colour choice compared to ford (who have a choice of over 12 colours on their XRs) is because they like to keep colours 'exclusive', but considering they keep moving colours on and changing what models they are 'exclusive' too....

i think its one of holdens worst traits. Wveryone buys the hero colour because they dont want the basic 'black white red or silver' then the streets are flooded in hero coloured cars. Atleast with a larger choice you can add a bit of personality.

I've got a similar problem,my GTO is silver and i would love to upgrade to a new silver vz,but they don't make one,so i guess i'll have to cross my fingers and hope there's a silver option in the vz series 2.I dunno about the louder colours,i have enough trouble with the cops without sticking out like a sore thumb in a bright coloured car.

yeha i think you gotta wonder why youre buying a holden and also trying to be individual....theyre the best selling sedan.

if you want to be individual, buy a euro obscure model or restore an older car thats not around much anymore, becuase getting a holden with some type of rarer colour normally just evokes a wanker response from everyone else.

buy a holden to have some cheaper fun thats easily modified, not to stand out in a crowd, thats never going to work :) (in stock form anyway, in any colour)

lol, all this talk of "hero" colours..
buy your "unique" holden sedan of choice, go paint it "blueprint" (just another metallic blue)... then fit it with the bi-turbo V12 from and AMG '65.. then you have your unique holden sedan ;)

on anther note, i saw a nice BA XR6 with blacked out windows, painted in deep red -> purple flip paint yesterday.. that, looks nice.
