i bought a 03 series one sv8 yesterday i have no idea about late model holden v8s and am wondering how far into the red would the needle go on wot with the trans in power gave mine a bit of stick yesterday and it shifted at a tad over 6500 first to second in the owners manual it says it should shift on the line or slightly over is this normal ?? also when does the factory rev limit kick in

Rev limit cut-out is at 6200rpm.. :) your rev-counter is just reading a tad on the keen side I would say.

cheers mate ..i guess ill get em to look at it next week when it gets serviced seems strange though because its idling in the correct position and by the time it gets there it sounds like its reving real hard and its definately not hitting the limiter hopefully it'll be under warranty... i guess it would .

Slucas - Be sure the Holden dealer does not wipe the edit your car may have and which you may not be aware of. Over 65 is a bit ambitious for a stock donk though!
