Is a V8 out of the question then?
VTII Calais around $16k for a good one
VTII S pac around $15k, they have good resale value
VX Acclaim seen a few in the $15/16k area
VSII Calais $11k plus, they also have good resale. Check out one the threads from a few days ago on VR/VS Calais.

Organize yer pennies and tag along with me to the Dealer raffles..$16K will have your bum in a VY exec......nearly :) There's the small matter of $27.50 ORC for one carton of xxxx Gold that must be loaded on the price....plus 2% Government stamp duty and $19.00 transfer tax..thats it.

Could do a lot worse than a TS Astra for that money. Forget the auto, but the manual gets along well enough in regular traffic and doesn't drink too much.
