View Full Version : Got My SV8 Today

Finally after waiting and waiting and more waiting I finally picked up my Black 05 SV8 with Black leather interior.
Have been reading heaps on this about how to run it in........Don't let it labour, Don't hold it in the red line and other than that drive it hard from KM 1. So far I have driven it 380km today and will be going out again as soon as the wife allows me to once the dishes have been done.
Great to have the V8, yet already want more power.........Am a little disappointed with the launch from stand still but from 3500RPM to 5800RPM just feels great.
What expected kw increase could be expected from just an EDIT no other changes, and would this fix the initial launch from the lights????
Other than that the new car smell and the look of the Black is great.
Anyway better get going before it gets cold...............

380K's ... ..and you have
yet to be booked in for an edit tune
ps....nice choice of car and edit WILL fix your launch...but have a gander at the exhuast at the same time :)..the two walk hand in hand for much :burnout:

Buy a bloody dishwasher :)
A Edit will get rid of that doughy LS1 feel. A Ls1 without a edit is like dating a hot girl but not getting past 1st base!

i second that motion, dishwasher sounds like a good idea,
as long as it doesnt cut into exhaust and edit funds!

Did a search on Forum Sponsors, to see who would be best and closest to the Sunshine Coast for Edit......Looks like no sponors on the Coast so would make best choice and from what I read a great choice being PT.......Any idea of rough cost just for EDIT?????????????

Edits range from $800-$1500 depending on MAF/MAFless and other work required.
Know several stock VY's that have gone from 187rwkw to 212rwkw or very similar with nothing else other than an edit.

Forget the dishwasher, you should be eating take-away and bagging them up in the drive-throughs.

Congrats on your purchase SV805. It is a dream to drive for sure, well worth the wait hey?
I've had mine for 3 weeks now and just reached the 2000km mark. I've sent a PM to GM Motorsport regarding edit and exausts, but havent heard anything back as yet. I agree with the launch as well, it is a bit slugish below 3000rpm. :(
Post some pics of your beats SV805. ;) I've had my windows tinted since last time i posted the pics of mine, i spose i should post more now with the tint.. ;)
cheers...:D

Forgot to mention it is an A4..........Has no problem line locking but seam ECU just holds it back when launching from a stand still...........Will get some pics in the next day or so just waiting for it to stop raining on the "SUNSHINE COAST"

Yeah mine is A4 also but cos it's been a while since I had an 8 ( 14 yrs ) I guess is why I recon the launch is great.
