IgottaLS1

Hi everyone,
My starter motor is getting veeeery sluggish. I've left it to the point where it will turn the engine over about once every 2 seconds, then pick up again and start normally. And, I used to be an auto-electrician :bash:
It just needs some new brushes which I wanted to put in last night. But, does anyone know HOW THE HELL YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO GET THE STARTER MOTOR OUT FROM THE ENGINE BAY??????? There's air-con pipes in front of it, and the damn heat shield above it. I've unbolted the starter motor, and managed to squeeze it into a spot and now it won't move. Has anyone removed them on an LS1 before?
Thanks everyone,
Nathan.
