Hey Guys,

I was just wondering does anyone here have there clubby VTII R8 or any HSV with the buckets wrapped in factory leather? I just havent seen any as all I have seen is cloth and was thinking of getting mine retrimmed to look like it was from the factory.
The other option was ROARZ gave me the idea of keeping the centre cloth trims (the one with the patterns) and having the bolstering only retrimed in leather, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this done and am interested to see what it looks like, I'm not convinced I would like it but cant knock it till I see it.
These are my two options and I've never really liked the cloth pattern in the HSV's (sorry if this offends) but then again I seem to be the only one that doesnt like the pattern so thats why I'm considering keeping the pattern and just having the bolstering retrimed.
So if anyone has photos in either those two options and can recommend a place that it can be done at that would be great.
BTW the clubby is a Tiger colour so I am interested in any colour combinations that came with that colour, but I'll take anything if no ones got any examples.

Cheers!!

Shaun that now owns Extreme Trimming at Southport did my seats and whole interior for me when he worked for Ross at Precise Trimming. I have to replace the leather tho that was used as it is not genuine leather it's a special automotive cheap grade immitation which I wasn't aware of until recently when I noticed it changing colour and found out that's what Ross does  . I can't recommend Shaun enough and he uses the top quality stuff. He has top of the leathers "Conoly" in there at present for $30-$40 per metre (some lines not all), when it's normally $120 per metre and Conoly is the worlds top leather.

I also got Brett's (ROARZ) seats done by Shaun too. Shaun now does a heap of new cars full leather interior as the dealerships can get him to recovers the interior seats in the top of the line Conoly leather cheaper than what they can get the cars from the factories with leather, plus it's heaps better being Conoly.

Seats look sweet IH8WRX, so you recommend Extreme Trimming rather then Precise Trimming?
Also to everyone else, just looking for opinions here, if I was to do the same as IH8WRX's seats would it look overly loud having a yellow or as close as I could Tiger colour bolstering? Maybe something for people with photoshop to give a stab?
Thanks guys!

I use to use Ross at Precise but in the end I simply gave up. I told him how I wanted my centre console lid, and he refused to do it because he liked a different style (nice to tell a customer what they are going to have when they want something else). He was never on time with promised work either. I wanted him to make a leather gearboot and centre console lid for a VY when they first came out and he wanted me to go to Holden and buy them both so he could use them as a pattern PLUS pay him then for the new leather ones he would make. I refused and told him that was his responsibility. Then the last straw was finding out my leather isn't genuine leather at all and that the colour is fading so it all has to be retrimmed.

Shaun actually made my seats and interior as he use to work at Precise but has since gone out on his own with his business called Extreme Trimming. I have sent lots of people there and never had a problem with the quaility of his work or getting things back on time. Just mention that I sent you and you will receive a discount.

No it wouldn't look silly on your seats with the bolstering done in the Tiger Mica, as I've seen it done before and it looks good. It's different and just breaks things up colourwise without being over the top or tacky

Rick, as you know, on the contrary, I originally got mine done at Extreme Trimming, and had to have Precise finish the job as I wanted. But without doubt, they are both very good trimmers, Im not gonna bad mouth anyone. My advice would be to have a look at both their work, talk to them both, get them to price your job, and go from there. Any one is welcome to inspect mine (and Im sure Rick will be the same) to help you make a choice. From memory, for my two seats built up into Coulsens + the leather + door inserts was about 1200. RB

Ok I got the following for $2200

* Front seats rebolsted to GTS specs and trimmed in leather replacing the plain cloth trim
* Rear seats retrimmed in leather replacing the plain cloth trim.
* Gearknob retrimmed in leather with red stitching
* Gearboot made in black leather with red stitching
* Handbrake cover made in black leather with red stitching
* Centre console made in black leather with red stitching

Took one week to complete.

Don't get me wrong, Ross from Precise has been in operation a lot of years and has worked on many of the countries finest and best known showcars. I had the above mentioned problems with him so I went else where. I'm happy with Extreme Trimming hence why I have gone back to Shaun and will continue to do so. Do you know if they can do something with steering wheels?

I had mine replaced under warranty due to the leather failing and within 5000k's the new one was doing the same. I make sure my hands are clean and no harsh chemicals on them but the wheel is getting a lot worse. No idea why and Holden said they havent seen the problem before. I also need the front seat repaired where it wears from getting in and out. Based on those prices above it shouldnt be vey expensive at all.

Pffff never seen that problem have they seen my clubbies steering wheel?!?! Granted its almost got 100,000km on the clock but my dads BMW has got 150,000km and his wheel still looks brand new. Mine doesnt look as bad as that though but that may be because my steering wheel is black and doesnt show up as bad.
Voodoo you may just have a high pH sweat on your hands, I know some people litterally have a more acidic/costic sweat than others. Either that or your just gripping that wheel way to tight when you stomp the loud peddle

Only does it on that side too. I have tested my hands for PH as that was suggested before as well but came back neutral. The new wheel is almost that bad after 10000k's.

Next time on on the coast ill drop in to these guys and have a chat.
