Just got my car ( VXSSII ) back from the holden dealership workshop the other day where i had the A/C tranducer changed, to solve a problem i had with the A/C switching off and on all the time, they also fixed i loose wire which was causing the check engine light to flash. The problem i have is since i picked it up i have noticed a lack in power and also the fuel economy has been shot to pieces, I travel 40 kms to work on open country roads with cruize set at 120 and you can actually watch the petrol guage needle move, getting about 350 kays to a tank of juice when before i could get about 500, apart from the lack of power the car seems to run fine. Was hoping for someone to shed some light on this problem and maybe some suggestions on what might be causing the problem. Great forum to.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply, i did a search on doing a PCM reset but found a couple of different options, can you tell me the correct way for a VX SS II, one post says to remove the fuse, turn on the accesories, wait for the beeps, turn off, install fuse and perform the learn procedure, the other post says to remove fuse wait 20 secs then reinstall and then do the learn procedure, im just not sure which one will work correctly.
Cheers

those instructions forget to mention once the fuse is out you need to turn ignition on (not starting engine) until you hear the chime then turn it off again to put fuse back in. also when i do it i find i get poor fuel economy for first say 70 km and then its fine. but in most peoples cases that poor economy will be better than their previous poor poor economy that makes them do pcm reset

Do holden reset the PCM during a service? Any other reasons why fuel economy would suddenly change?
This exact thing has happened to me as well.

Thanks all for your help, have done the reset tonight, so will find out tomorow if it has helped when i take it for a run in the morning, with that nice moist air that it seems to like.
Cheers
I have found that after a Holden service, the fuel economy for the next 2-3 weeks is worse too.
Could it just be the new oil and filters wearing in??
