I'm the proud owner of a VY Executive LS1 just purchased a few months ago.
Last night driving home I got rear-ended by a HQ 1-tonner (which was in absolutely smick condition).
It looked fine, the boot was dented and the bar cracked, until today when I noticed the entire boot floor was pushed up and twisted and all the "mounts" torn.
Anyways to cut a long story short, I can choose which smash repairer i want to take it to.
I was recommended Central Districts Smash Repairs in Ryde. Has anybody dealt with them.
Secondly, what is the price difference between an executive rear bar, and a VY SS bar? I figured that as im putting an SS kit on anyway, I may as well pay the difference and get it done while the repairs are undrerway.
What are your opinion? Should I stick with the executive 'kit' so it can be changed back in the future or swap now?

swap now if your kiting it, cause you should save a couple hundred by doing it that way

Try the panelbeaters just next to McDonalds at Gladesville opposite the pub.
(Can not remember the name.)
Seem to do good work. They are a NRMA registered and the boss there seems
ok.
They are on the expensive side but are always busy.

I presume this is an ex-cop car, as the general public did not have the ability to buy such a beast.......??

VY Exec LS1?? Cool!! Never heard of it. I've only ever seen V8 cop cars as SS('s).
Is it badged as a V8 or just no badges at all?
Rod.

If you can afford to do the whole kit now, do it, or just the rear bar. Saves on the amount of times your car is off the road. ;)

It is badged as a V8, however if you want to confuse people do what I did and put some V6 badges on.

My Mum works for PPG Australia. This is not official on a public forum, but for quality of work, it is recommended you go to:
Berlina Body Works. I just grabbed their contact details off the white pages.
611 Parramatta Rd Leichhardt 2040

This is not a paid advertisment. Just what I have been told for quality of work.

Yea its a QLD ex cop car. ALl the way from Goondwindi. I bought it here in NSW though.
It was badged as a V8 but they were the first thing to come off :D
I was actually at the cop shop and a young officer there came out to look at the car. I ended up popping the bonnet, he sat inside, started it up. We ended up talking about cars for a good half hour.
In the end he said 'mate thats a nice sleeper you've got ther'. What can you say to a cop
Anyways, I got a call today fromthe insurance company. They're going to take my car to two of their people first, and then I can specify who else I want. Its getting towed within the next hour.

Central District in West Ryde is great!! I highly recommend them.
Had an issue with my window in my fairmont coming off the track (fell into the door)... Popped over there (I live a few mins away), and they took less than 10 mins to have it all sorted out.
