Just got my Vn, 17 inches of love! *pics*

hey fellas i just got my Vn todey.

1991 model vn but has the vp motor on it, got some pics below, and would apreciate if someone can tell me what the rims are called because i dont know, i wouldent mind some info about them, eg : how much they cost, cause they came with the car.

another question, while driving the car i felt as if i was going faster then what the speedo was saying, ive drivin only about 6 or 7 other cars in my life but its the first time i felt this, my brother said it could be the rims and tyres doing that, is there some way of checking?

As for the speedo being wrong .... find someone with a handheld GPS at test against your speedo.

Dont worry mate, my first car, a VF Valiant wagon
sported a white bonnet for quite a while. I pranged
her, and got busted going up Adalaide RD in Murray
Bridge on my way to Navy reserves with an ocky strap
holding the bonnet down. They gave me a canary and
I had to get the old man to shout me a bonnet from
the wreckers so I could get her rego'd again :lol:

the white bonnet is because of an accident it had, it was on there when i bought the car.

so those rims are called ANZ Roxbury Liquid Chrome ?, Thanks, Hopefully i can find some info on them now.

I just picked up a 1990 auto 3.8L VN myself, for about the total cost of $2600 with 2.5" cat-back Lukey exhaust and sports steering wheel. It's in pretty good nick. I've also noticed the speedo seems to be slow with the speed you're actually doing, and I believe my car has also had some 17" on it before I had it. Does yours feel about 5-7kms fast, or more?

I've also noticed that my auto tends to stick in 1st gear a bit, especially up hills. Do you have the same problem?

i payed 3500$ for it

i dont notice it stick in first gear, about the only problem i notice when driving is that thing about the speedo feeling weird, feels more then 5 or 6km's faster.

and the front seats were not bolted down properly, the driver side seat i fixed yesterday, but the passanger seat seems weird, its got the hole for the bolt, but no hole on the floor panel for the bolt to go into? freeking weird, i might be doing soemthing wrong though.

btw, i was gonna put an air pod on so i can start of the modding on the car, but my brother said theres no point putting them on unless you have a good cold air intake mod to go with it.

so does that mean if i put a diff air pod on it, it wont do anything? will it increase airflow? will it make airflow worse? or will it just be the same?
