Hey everyone,,,

Looking at workshops in Brisbane for a Exhaust/LS1 edit and tune -> then a head/cam or supercharger package ......

Been told power torque engines where quite good along with i think its Pro Street or Pro Flow performance ?

Anyone point me in the right direction? Basically looking at spending up to 5grand and hoping for 12s (think thats possible?) (NOT including forced induction route in the 5grand of course)

cheers Everyone

12's are possible unopened at Powertorque. They are a forum sponsor and the only place in brisbane that is recommended. They can sort out all aspects of your car.

This Brisbane SV8 owner got to 12.231 at 112.42mph with Exhaust / Edit tune / Diff gears / TC
courtesy of Power Torque Engines and within stated budget .

A quick visit to Willowbank will soon ascertain which tuning shops have runs on the board ;)

Are we going to have to have this conversation again Stewart... :)

Don't get me wrong, plenty of kudos for PT.

Just have an issue with the word "only"... ;)

Only place that is recommended "by me" and the majority of others. Im sure there are other places that do the work though.

Mark: it would be nice to see more than one car from other workshops having a go out there. :stick:

Other workshops cars are out there, and run in the street series too. They just don't happen to be forum members. All the same PT is a sponsor with a very good reputation.

and in regards to transmissions? who does the best auto work up there?

My current car may get a trade up soon (currently M6), and was thinkin if i was going to start going to willowbank an auto mite be the go?? Any comments?

My previous drag racing history was with a 2L Turbo powered 4WD Lancer Evo (sold) ... so it was a touch easier to get traction i imagine..

any help suggestions would be appreciated,,

cheers

(this'll get me flamed) Autos are for city slickers...

(now being serious again) If Holden made an index shifting style auto for the 'dore, I'd have one in a heart beat. The only reasons I stick with the M6 is it's fun to shift your own cogs when your cruising, and it makes rpm management MUCH easier on circuits (such as Qld Raceway). Given that streeting and circuiting is what I enjoy the most, I stick with a M6. NOW, if I wanted to get consistent good times at the drags, I'd get the auto in a heartbeat. The auto would also make a lot more sense in all that peak hour travelling I do. Like I said, an index shifting box would be the best of both worlds...

So, if WB is your plan, auto in the way to go.

As for trans shops, I'll have to leave that one to the auto boys...

remember the Manual sounds much better when you downshift into a corner :)

If you are trading up to a new one it will have a 4L65E anyhow which is a stronger box, within reason. It is like anything, the more modification you do the more stress you put on the driveline. Look at markone2, into the 11 second bracket now and hundreds of runs with a stock auto.

As far as where to go, as above, my choice of tuner is also Powertorque. There are other shops as stated, but I do not see the need to change my supplier, Mark looks after his customers very well, gives us what we want and gets it right. You can't ask for much more.

And.....ah.....Brett.....what's wrong with being a city slicker

Are you getting a single 3.5" system?
Is that what PT quoted against?... I have a feeling you were quoted for a twin system.

On another note, the way you put that post, you can be more diplomatic with your phrasing.
If you had of addressed my business in the manner of your above post I'd be telling you were you can get your tune too.

There you go see, your post was misleading.

Next time you tell people not to buy from somewhere, afew more facts and some apples for apples comparisons should be bought to the table. :teach:

3.5" would be better for detuning than sound.......
