Having just bought a VZ Maloo R8 when i read the brochure (and website and pdf file) as i was buying it i read about an areial that you could position at a preset height by the driver ( as was in my VT Calais , i have a low roller door an get sick of it hitting on the way in ) .After i had the car a couple days i tried to find out how to adjust this and could not ..... contacted service dept ... no idea , talked with HSV dealer ... less of an idea , ended up getting an address and went thru those channels to end up getting a receptionist message on the mobile that "the specs were wrong on the website and in the sales brochure ...and the pdf ...bad luck " :(
Where does one stand with this ?
I have let it rest for a bit but am getting sick of the lack of after sales service as after having the car for 3 plus mths i have yet to recieve the "bonus " attache case etc (run out of stock ) . Then get a letter asking about how satisfied i am with things asking how my Rodeo is
Gotta say i am not happy and will doubtfully be buying another HSV again
BTW the car is good , no issues with it

the only way i know of, results in a clunk, clunk, clunk when you turn off ignition, as it tries to wind down to a starting height that is below normal. Not really good for the motor.
Depending on how keen you are, you could pull aerial out, open it up and snip a foot off the 'rope' ... but again prob not suitable BUT ... holden might do it for you though if faced with a breach of advertising claim)

If I ever bought a HSV (might one day, who knows) I would expect to be treated above the average Holden buyer. After all, they are meant to be a premium product, not just an expensive Commodore. You can get screwed over for a lot less outlay...

Jus turn your radio off before entering the garage (mine does the same so thats what I do), I know you shouldn't have to but I get the feeling you won't get far with your dealer or HSV.
They have your money now, so why would they bother helping you?
Maybe at your next services, explain to the boss of the place how this will be the only time they will see anything of you again because of this.
In the mean time, go out and enjoy your nice R8 Ute!.:D

Hate to dissapoint you, but you don't get treated as anything special.
When we got ours the dealer was OK but HSV themselves had no idea of customer service. Can't remember what the trinket was when we bought our VS but they didn't get it to us for months ( not the dealer HSV)
In general they were worse than bad, didn't answer phone calls staff didn't know much about range, etc etc.
At the end of the day, Just didnt bother with them and they were a much smaller company in those days ( think our build no was 600 or so) I can only imagine how they are now!
Having said all that, the vehicles are worth every cent of what you pay for them, our old VS runs rings around anything we have had since handling wise it was a really well balanced vehicle. To the original poster, enjoy your HSV!

VU SS 50, I don't know what sales brochure you are refering to but the one I have, that lists the specs of all HSV VZ models (2004-2005), shows that only the Clubsport R8, Senator, Grange and Avalanche came with driver adjustable pre-setting for height. The Maloo R8 is only listed as having the auto full up or down. At the back of the catalogue there is also the fine print disclaimer that states changes can be made etc.
I have always been treated exceptionaly well during the purchase and after by my dealer and at times when I have made direct contact with HSV they have been very helpfull and courteous. I don't know if I get treated any better than any other new car purchaser but it sure feels that way :)

Sorry to hear of your problems VU'
My experience was totally different - got the "royal" treatment the whole time - received stacks of trinkets/coolers/bags/keyrings/compendium etc in 3 weeks after purchase. The service mechanic has his name on the "next service" sticker, Totally satisfied to date.
Could suggest writing an email or letter to the dealer principal you bought it from and ask him to get HSV to pay for replacing the aerial with an adjustable one. Worth a try - just dont flame him, as it's HSV's stuff-up.
(I had similar issues with another manufacturer and this method worked a treat)
Good luck :)
and I luuvvvv my Ava :D

Here's a tip mate,
record the radio during the night on a tape, and play it during the day in the car.... WAIT ! There's no tape players in new cars anymore !!! what is the police doing ???

You would think in this day and age that you wouldn't require an aerials that sticks out like a sore thumb. Although I am not sure how them intergrated aerials into the windscreens are.

Dont worry about the attache case. If they are still the stainless metallic looking variety, they scratch up in no time and look crap. The leather airport
bags are a little better, but pretty small.
I have had good service through Holden/HSV just about to get a entire front bumper resprayed under warranty.

Cant find in the brochure where it says the aerial is adjustable in anything other than Clubsport R8, Grange, Senator & Avalanche.
Definately not Maloo R8.
Some gifts are slow coming out at present and have been since January. But it is a GIFT so why complain? You will get it and if they are not fast enough change it to something they can give you now.
You should write back complaining that your "Rodeo" has a speed vibration at 240km/h

Yeah, but then they would have asked you if you're satisfied with the Barina :-)
