yes I have done a search but can only find stuff on Transmax Z
What other oils are you guys using in the M6?? also why do people put in auto trans fluid in the M6??
my car manual only mentions specs for the auto trans...
thanks in advance.
I use Torco RTF 100% synthetic, very hard to get but it absolutely rocks.
Phonsy at GM Motorsport put me onto it and he dumps his clutch at 7,000rpm on his "orignal" gearbox with no failures to date :D It is a shock proof type oil that is used in lenco etc.
I have used Castrol Transmax Z before but did not like the feel of the box at all and would not recommend it.

I guess it is because that is what Holden recommends.
That orange sticker on the side of the box below the filler plug says "USE DEXRON III ATF ONLY" :D :D :bash: :bash:

The correct amount is 4 litres. However, Holden recommends filling with an additional 0.5 litres through the reversing light switch cavity (once you have replaced the fill plug) to cut down on noise.

filling procedure is to fill from the reverse switch, thats where i have always filled them from, ive known a few ppl that have used transmax z and nulon additive and seems to be good, im about to do the same thing with my t5...a mate used to use a fully synthetic oil in his peugot called neo http://www.neosyntheticoil.com/, aparently shifts went silky smooth and it doensnt have to be changed for quite some time, pretty exxy tho from memory...cheers steve

Let me get this straight if you put in Transmax Z you should also add the Nulon additive.
If so what is the exact name of the Nulon product and how much additive do you put in.

mate it is a LOT easier if you fill the box thru the filler hole
(drivers side of the box) and
only add the last ½ litre thru the reverse switch
there is a thread here on how to do that too...
but here's the direct link....
