After 5 weeks of waiting for Remus in europe to send autotechnique a prototype, it has finally arrived. Remus LS1 system will not fit LS2 system so don't believe your dealers guys. I went in at lunch and got the Remus race system fitted. The sound is horn.
They did a before and after dyno run. Again my car got 239 and 240rwkw from stock which was the same as when I had it done at F1.
It managed to pull 244rwk with the Remus race system. I've been advised to test it out and bring it back next week to have a rerun to see if the computer has adjusted itself.

I was surprised that there is a sound level adjustment on the system. Just a matter of getting a spanner and adjusting the bolt. :)

Some guy from HPtuners was there to test his ls2 editing software on my car so hopefully it will be ready soon

Here are some pics of the stock exhaust and remus exhaust.
I've sent the sound files to myles who will post them up shortly.

it looks very nice.

something ive always wondered, is a Remus system far and away better than say a custom sureflo system, or is it all much of a muchness? or is it the unique sound from a remus?

It certainly looks the goods. I think Troy Corser had a Remus on his Ducati when he won the WSB in 1996.

yeah they look good, but dont sound as good as the 3.5" muffler from Sureflo ... but that is just mine (and a few others :) ) opinions ...

Need to bend down when you wash the car and clean under the lip of the rear bumper when you wash next time ;)

Can't wait to hear what it sounds like!!!!

Looks great! ... cant wait to hear the sound files ... wonder if Remus has a system for the VZ GTO?

Also good to hear the edit for the LS2 is nearly ready ... I read on "vcm-suite.com.au" that it should be ready this month.

Cheers

It's loud alright, but I can't say the sound really impresses me.
Maybe the video doesn't do it justice.

I think you'll find factory Ducati's in the WSB use Termigoni exhausts and Corser was no exception...

Correct :) All the Ducati performance systems are by Termi.

Thanks myles and Voodoo.

Coupe:Yeah I hope it's coming soon. I've discussed it with the guys at autotechnique and have agreed to let my car be the test mule for the ls2 edit so I'll let you guys know if I do get it done.

sounds sweet - just ordered one myself. where was the sound adjustment set for your run?

The sound was set at it's maximum i.e. bolt adjustment was completely open.
There is a nut located under each of the rear tips.

Did you order the race or road system? My mate at work has the road system on his CV8 and it was barely louder than my LS2 when it was stock. However it did have a deeper note when you rev it. Maybe road system on LS2 may have different result.

Vuster,
Great car and the zorst looks the goods. Those tips rock!!!

Alex,
I do not know about the quality and performance difference. Maybe the new distributers 4 the remus could do a comparison between the two sytems. Say b4 and after dyno runs, sound comparisin and how well thay bolt up etc. Something like whats Sams did with headers/extractors.
Maybe they could do one for the ls1 system as well.
I am quite sure there would be somebody who has a custom sureflow system who is willing to be a test mule. i am in syd if u need a test car.

Is it just me, or where the brake lights on all through that dyno run?

Now thats nice! I'll have to speak to my financial advisor (misses) regarding finance.

Did you retain the original exhaust? Or the shop keep it?

Still at the tuners. Going to pick it up next week when I pay them. I wouldn't throw away the original exaust just in case I need to go back to stock.

On a bolt-on car, I don't think changing the exhaust will make much difference on an LS2, unless you just want it louder then you can change the rear muffler. It's quite a good stock system, dual 3" from headers to cats, dual 2.5" cats to mufflers, then dual 2.25" out the back. It's mandrel bent too with no crimps (apart from very minor ones before the mufflers) unlike the earlier systems.

That's what I was thinking when I saw the size of the pipes. They look the same size as the stock ones. Before and after Dyno so far has not seem to show a great power difference.
I'm thinking about changing the headers as well. Do you advise me not to touch it?

I don't have an LS2, but I have seen one up close (see pic) and now actually have a full LS2 system on my wagon including stock headers. I changed the rear muffler for a straight through design that's slightly louder, and I think unless you're chasing big power later with strokers, turbos etc it won't pose any restriction at bolt-on power levels.

The beauty of factory systems that flow well is they're also nice as far as in-cabin noise levels, it's also a legal system noise wise etc. IMO they're a good system.

I would change the headers. Those stockers are OK, but a set of CSV short 4-1 headers will still bolt up, retain emissions compliance and allow that 6.0L to breathe the way it should.

Just these CSV headers netted me 8rwkw back to back.

The problem with the stock exhaust is not the pipes, its the muffs and resonator. They are baffled and cause a restriction.

.

Is that for your CV8 or are you reffering to a LS2 you worked on?

Just found a pic of Corser at Daytona in Jan '96 with a Remus sticker on his fairing, but a Termi one on the muffler. (AMCN Vol 45 No. 16, my very first issue)

Correct :) All the Ducati performance systems are by Termi.

Yes, saw a Remus exhaust on a demo R8 at Heartland in Parramatta 2-3 weeks ago, so they have been round for a little while & the importers I called said the part no. he gave me fitted all LS1 & LS2's - which as we can see here is utter crap.

So someone must know !!
