Hey website owners,
May I suggest creating a screensaver for us LS1 addicts to put on our computers? Please?? Would anyone else like one??

Good old Huggies made one for a us a couple of years back .... lots of people have changed vehicles since then, so it might be time for a V2.0 ... though the old one is good to reminisce. :D

That sounds like a top idea, that way we have nice big clear pics in the screen saver.

Original size should be atleast 1600x1200, as this resolution is becomming more common these days.
Although I run at 1280x1024 as thats all my 17" LCD will support, but like you said it can be multi scaled for different destop sizes.

Does anyone know how to run/install the screensaver hosted on Haroc's server?

it took me a good half hour to find a half decent photo of the vh. i have plenty of photos of rust problems, and photos of it in semi rubbed back stage, but not many in it's nice smooth primer look!!!

Thanks to those who have already sent pics through to me.

I have gone through the first couple of pages of the "Your Ride" section, unfortunately quiet a few of pictures on the older posts are just broken links, but there were still some good shots.

I have already put together 7 completed slides for the screen saver, they look pretty good, even if I do say so myself, so once they are all done, not only will I make the screen saver available, but each of the individual slide will be available as desktop wallpapers :D .

So if you haven't sent pics through be sure to do so. My email address is back on the first page. If possible the bigger the image the better, I'm basing the screen saver around 1600x1200, so the closer your pic is too that the better it will look in the finished product.

Just that when you "save a file to the desktop" you are really just creating a shortcut of sorts to where the OS stores it on the HDD. You didn't seem to think that it was some sort of shortcut.

The file istelf most likely isn't a shortcut. The "Desktop" itself is more like the shortcut.

You are correct though in that the desktop is buried in the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop" and the "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop" folders on XP.

That's cool. Still weird that it didn't work though...you may have created a "scrap" or OLE doesn't work for .scr file....don't know and couldn't be bothered finding out.

its getting there, I've got 35 slides ready to go, looking at somewhere between 40-50 for the finished product. I've got about 150 pics from the your ride section and photo threads, so should meet that number easily. Just got to get a bit of uni work out of the way first...but not long to go.

46 of the best all ready to fill your screen with LS1 goodness, when the time comes for you to stop browsing the forum. Due to the large file size of the full resolution version, I have also made two smaller versions, so just download the one that matches your screen resolution. Enjoy.

nope, no idea what exactly it does, but its only local? mine did it but I just set it to ignore it (or whatever that setting was...)

please note - the grey vh commodore featured in the screensaver isnt' grey anymore. actually, it isn't on the road anymore. However, it is more interesting than a bog stock vs executive sedan, so it can stay:p
