I paid $180 for a VY2 HSV 4" MAF Pipe from a tuner.
so id say $160 - $170 from holden
... so you don't have to supply a HSV VIN# for a MAF pipe ?
Sounds like they are easy to get ...
Anyone know if Mark from PT sells them ... going to get my SS tuned there soon.
thx

Just go to the counter and ask for one.

Hey Kerb
I got my mafpipe from PT, they had a box load of them. Make sure you let them know what rubber couplings you need ie if you are hooking it up with a maf in place or not. Either way you will need to purchase a rubber boot to put between the maf sensor and the pipe + one more hose clamp, cause it wont join without this! I found it makes throttle response much nicer, even if you dont have an edit yet.. and a tad louder on the induction noise. Will be close to $200 with the rubber I think. Get a hi flo filter and monaro cold air intake. Im yet to get a tune, but adding these to my SS had made a considerable difference IMO.
Edit: If you havent had a tune then Id guess you still have maf in place. One rubber boot needed then.
Yeah I have MCAI already ... just won a set of Clubsport headers on eBay and when I have em HPC coated and fitted I'll be going to PT for an edit ... Just need to get HSV MAF Pipe, Filter and dual engine covers ...
Will be keeping the MAF in place when I get edit done.

Does this mean I can put a bigger one on my VY, and it will make a small difference in power maybe? I have the standard maf pipe, with 2 hole mod to the MCAI.

For sure, The benefit obviously being that you will have a solid 4 inches end to end between your maf sensor and throttle body meaning less restrictive airflow. The stock pipes are softer plastic and dialate in diameter at the elbow bend. When they heat up because of the engine bay temps, they have a tendency to 'suck in' on themselves when youre under throttle causing even less room for your hard earned cold air to pass through.
If youve already got the MCAI, then get yourself a hi flo filter (like K&N) and the aftermarket mafpipe. They go quite well together :)

What is the standard diameter of a maf pipe, cause mine looks around 4", I will invest in a K&N filter though.

Im not too sure, but the standard pipes have ribs along them plus you can basically squeeze them with your hand
