Hi

I agree Ford puts the on the XR series standard and I have to say they are great for handling espcially in the wet. But one down side is a small percentage of them tend to split on the sidewalls and on the tread. I have attached a link below

Keep a look out

Cheers

I think any decent tyre is better than the old 530s.
Knowing Dunlops, tell how they are going after 20000km. Maybe they have improved in the last few years, because they were shite after the Kobe factory was destroyed.

Ive been running them for a while but I find that lots of them crack the sidewall. My mate is a dunlop dealer and everytime I go there there are a few sets of them sitting on the floor for warranty. Still, there not a bad tyre for the money.

Someone I know has an XR6 and has had 3 sets of the Dunlops replaced due to splitting - hasn't had to pay for one set yet.

Oh so then they still are shite. I'll stick to other brands.

Mine has never launched harder than when I put them on. I have been very impressed with them.. Interesting hearing about the cracking problem...?

The problem has been sorted out from Dunlop the fisrt lot they sold wereFaulty and as said above the tyre walls cracked, The only problem people would be having now is that the seller is getting rid of old stock. The newer Version are Much better and are so far problem free....

For a cheaper option, you guys might want to take a look at Regal RD3100's. They are the exact same tyre as the SP Sport 9000. Regal is a subsidiary of Dunlop. At $160 a corner, they are great value.

I had SP3000 on my SS when I bought it, and they were shite. bad in the wet and only 20000K's out of the set

I had them new on my BA XR6 - no splitting (did 30,000kms) and gripped quite well, a decent tyre i reckon.

If they are what is on my brothers xr8 series 2 ute, they squeal and slide when u push them hard. I will stick to the bridgestone so3 that came on my car. He is going to get rid of them for some yoko avs.

I've done 15,000kms... SP3000A. They're wearing evenly, have excellent grip in the wet, and no trouble with splitting etc. I keep them at about 36PSI and rotate them every so often. Prolly another 15,000kms or so until I get another set. :)
