Canberra guys,
I got a car park scratch last weekend when out at Magnet mart.
Some low life opening their door has put about a 2-3cm scratch on passenger door, almost down to metal. That side didn't have a mark on it. I'm still

Anyone know if "Touch up guys" are any good, or is it best to see the smash repairers for this?

Cheers
Ian

I most likely will try the smash repairers, but just canvassing if others had the "experience" and recommendations.

Mate the Touch Up Guys used to be quite good down there not sure if they have changed owners though, I would suggest getting them to have a look at it as I am sure a panel beater will use a broom with a touch of paint and the scratch will look twice as big

esshhhh buggers, don't ya hate that.

If you're really anal about it, the only way perfectly is a respray on the door. Sounds nasty, but if you get a good panel dude to do it, it won't cost much.

I put a small scratch on the arse of my SS last year, and I wanted it perfect so I got a respray.. Only cost about $200.. No biggie, and it was spot on.

If it's a VT (and metallic), you might have some issues with a respray.. Touch-up metallics usually look pretty bad... Especially if it's a longer scratch.

I called one of the touch up guys to check a couple of stone chips on my SS before I sold it. He said that he could fix the ones on the bonnet pretty easily, and there was a deep (gouged the metal) one on the A pillar, which he said he could fix too. he then had a look at a big black scuff on the front air dam near the right foggie and he buffed it out with some special gear. (i'd tried meguiars scratch x on it and had no joy) He did that one for free. i never did get him back to fix the others as i sold the car a couple of days later, but he was happy to come out and have a look at them to see what he could do, no charge..

worth a call..
