Just heard that Graham Kennedy has died this morning. I think he was one of the funniest talanted aussie TV personalities on the box. :(

Yeah i'm guessing lots of kiddies don't remember him but some of the older ones would.. I remember the funniest home videos show and so on.. I heared a radio interview with Don Lane this morning.. He kind of sounded like he was a little bitter towards him on some level.

GK in Blankety Blanks with Ugly Dave Gray and Noelene Brown. This is the stuff that formulated my basic thinking and mindset as a child...which is probably still evident today.

Sad, sad time.

Couldn't have said it better myself!
Back when innuendo was all you could use, and they PUSHED the limits!

A great loss to comedy.

My favorite memories of him were on his late night news show Coast to Coast with both John Mangos and Ken Sutcliffe. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard and I don't think my Dad has either. Some great television there and so much better than what the Panel could dish out.

I suppose those Best Of DVDs are probably going to appear soon.

Tis a sad day.

It is a very sad day for such a great TV personality to pass on. I remember watching him as a youngster with Bert Newton (before he teamed up with Don Lane), and he personified Australian humor in the best possible way. A truly funny and genuine Australian.

And his best acting performance - probably in "The odd, angry shot" (from memory), about life during the Vietnam War. A movie truly worth watching.

RIP Graham Kennedy.

I concurr... Coast to Coast was fantastic, dunno if anyone ever watched it for the news. He always had poor Ken or John in tears... Standing up with no pants on or learning how to speak Greek.

Ch 9 based GK DVD has been out since ~Xmas

Truly a sad day, but I do look forward to the specials they show on him.

I'm with Tuna, used to watch them all on BB as a kid - loved it.

The "crow call" will remain one of the most infamous moments on aussie TV ........Faaaarrrrrkk

How he used to get away with "Peter the phantom puller" etc I don't know.......funny stuff. :D

Very sad time. :(

RIP Mr Kennedy.

He was a funny man, and was actually taken off radio for the "crow call" long before he did it on the TV.

I loved him on the late show (not sure what the title was) with John Mangos and then Ken Sutcliffe, watching Ken pee himself laughing on national tele was bloody funny.

I second that.

and he was fantastic in "the club" even if you dont like collingwood, or AFL

I heard he was starting to lose his marbles tho, i remember hearing he had a nasty fall a few years ago and was stuck with no help for a few days?

you dont have to be real old to appreciate him. RIP

I agree. This was in 1988 when I started uni so I used to always watch the show at the end of my studying. After that and Funniest Home Videos, Graham retreated from the public eye and has been pretty much a recluse these last 15 years.

A sad end for a very funny and much loved man.

May he rest in peace.

I concur with all of you about Coast to Coast being hilarious. My favourite bit was always at the end when they'd have a nature story about some cute animals in a zoo or a park somewhere at it would always cut back to GK with his comment "I wonder what they taste like ?".... cracked me up many times over...maybe not as much as he did to John Mangos and Ken Sutcliffe but heaps of fun.
