Driving along mining my own business behind a 4wd when this truck pull out from a rock supply place and we both slow down.
Then from under the 4wd a massive rock about the size of a soccer ball appears in the middle of my lane.
I just had enough time to hit the brakes and think this is going to hurt.
Then that god awful sound of rock hitting plastic then metal and bouncing under the car.
Pull up and have a look under neath and the sump guard looked like it had gone a round with Tyson.
Then these two blokes from the rock place come out to see what happened, the driver called and said a rock was stuck between his wheels a few out.
I then lost it and called them some choice names etc and said if the driver new the rock came out of the wheel why didn’t he stop.
They reckoned he couldn’t due to there was no were to stop.
Any way the rock place said they would pay for any damage and get some quotes.
I notified my insurance and they have made a notice of the incident, they said if it doesn’t work out give them another call.
I also reported it to the police and they said the same.
So far the damage is up to $600 for repainting and repairing the front bumper and sump guard.
Good news is the sump its self appears to be OK but I am going to get the dealer to go over the car just in case.
There is also a mark on the bell housing, gearbox, and exhaust.
