Question was asked if I knew how quick the V8 supercars go down the 1/4, had a search and didn't find anything definitive.
Anyone know if this had been done, I seem to recall it was done a while ago, but buggered if I can remember

Glen Seton did it at the Geelong speed trials about 12 years ago in an EB. It pulled 11's I think. Not an official drag strip but it would be close to the mark.

About 4 years ago there was a write up in the Sydney papers about the quarter mile times of the V8 Supercars just before Bathurst - stuffed if i can remember them though.

Did a quick google, only thing i found was a review about the Konesigg (sp?) CCR which referred to V8 supercars. IT gives a rough 0-100 time, perhaps you can work out the quarter time off that. In the article it states:

"The CCR goes from rest to 100km/h in a staggering 3.2 seconds – which is a good second faster than a V8 supercar – and storms on to a seemingly unfeasible 395km/h"

At ECreek on the weekend the larry perkins pit garage had the usual 'technical data' poster outside the pits.

1/4 mile in 10.5 secs @ 230kmh. 0-200 in 9.5 sec.
Good enough for me.

Those more technical minded would also point out that it depends on the diff ratio the car has in it , fuel load , cold tyres vs warm tyres...........

Yeah saw that thread mate, but I'm a lazy pr*ck at the best of times, thought someone might of had the answer
Well, according to that calc they're good for a 9sec pass
2937lb @ 620bhp.

I don't think theyr'e that quick. They will probably do a high 10 - low 11 second pass.

The Winfield tripple challenge that used to be at Eastern Creek in I think 90-92 had a three race run up the strip, the final year Seton in his Falcon was running Gardner in his Commodore.....

you'd expect the amount of downforce the rear wing on a v8 supercar generates would cause a reasonable impact to its 1/4 time.... it would be interesting to compare the 1/4 mile time between one with and one without the rear wing...
