Just wanted to ask about Mild cams in an auto.

Current mods:
> Single 3 inch cat back
> Opened cats
> MCAI

Future mods:
> 3.73 gears
> Pacemaker tri-y
> Sams tune

I had a mate recommend to me that sam does a 224/224 112LSA and was just curious if this would work with the above mentioned mods and with a stock torque converter. Its mainly a everyday driver with the occasional track day.

What other mods would be necessary? Springs, retainers, timing chain, pushrods, tranny cooler? The cars getting close to 80thou kms and maybe a freshen up would do her well.

Also what power/torque figures could i be looking at? Any other info would also be welcome such as rough price estimates. Thanks.

Cheers,
Grif

It would be best to give the shop a call and talk to Sam directly and he will be able to give you all the info you need.

It will work well. Perhaps RIDE:42 will chime in and expound the power of his 224 cam done by Sams. Very torquey and runs low 12s, cam only.

can also guarantee that Sam will recommend upgraded valve springs with the new cam.

Sam did the cam in my car ... unfarkenbeleiveable :)

Also FYi.. you are more than capable of running low 12's with a small 218 cam like mine - 11's are also on the cards with a little stall.

Idles very close to stock.. great fuel economy.. spot on for me.
