Hmmm a while back I recall a few recommending Peter from 'Advanced' Suspension or the like in Edwardstown....but I cant find them in the phonebook.
Time to get some new struts/shocks and another shop to have a crack at a decent alignment :)
If hes still out there anyone have his details? Or any other recommendations? Im looking for someone familiar with setting up VT-> Commodores ....
OR OF COURSE anyone with any supa specials on good shocks struts (KYB, Billys, Konis...)

I would HIGHLY recommend against AVS Suspension. I had springs and a camber kit fitted by scott, and i had a constant left hand pull on the ute which after much trouble shooting, he could not get rid of, and told me it was \"normal\" for holden utes to do this
I have since taken my car to Holden Hill Tyrepower, and those guys fixed it. They even said, \"whoever fitted your gear should be in jail\"...
Ute now drives like a dream.
Make up your own mind up... But for all my tyre/suspension work, i will always go to Holden Hill Tyre Power. Great guys, and they do a wicked job!

I have a VX SS series 2 which I run super low king springs front and rear with the standard shockers. Ride is a little harsh but handles great. I run -1 1/2 camber on the front with 2mm toe in. On the rear I have -2 3/4 camber. Never wears out the inner edges and never do I have it pull. Drives straight as an arrow and handles like its on rails. Fitted the suspension myself and set it up myself. If you don't mind spending money, go and buy a set of bilstein shockers and quadrant springs, I would be able to hook up a set of newies for a good price and fit if you want.

Holden Hill Tyrepower, is WEB suspension's new name isn't it?
I've had suspension work done by them in the past and their service was very professional.
I had some springs fitted to a vehicle to clear a defect, and when we measured them it had settled to just below the prescribed height. They apologised profusely and of course put another set of springs in it at no additional charge to me.
Couldn't recommend this place more highly, and I think I have mentioned it to Pepe before, but it's a bit far from his place!
Worth the drive though Ian if you are up for it.

Thanks men....
VASSAM PM me....I'm in two minds at the moment on what to spend. I dont know if I'll keep the car more than 12 months more so I'm looking at all the options. .

Yep, thats them.
Great blokes.
Work is always done on time, and very competitive pricing too!
I would just like to responed to the comments made by Mr Rogue about me and my buiness.
First of all the vehicle and situation he is refering to was a bit differant to the way it has been posted on here. I lowered the ute for him and he seemed quite pleased at the time. After a few weeks had past the ute was defected for to low. Opon it return to the workshop it was raised to standed height and the defect was lifted.. Once it came to lowering the ute for the seconed time Mr Rouge decided he did not want super lows anymore and wanted sports low springs instead. I tried to help him out at this point by buying the springs back off him at a very good price so he would not be to much out of pocket when buying his new springs. Then the ute was lowered again.. All of which was done at a very good price as he told me he was the founder of the Pro Ute Club and would recomend us to them. So discount was given. Also most of the work was done while the owner looked on.
The ute had a small pull to the left as do a large number of commodores. The fault is easy to fix and was desscused between us. Mr Rouge did not wish to spend any more money and so the problem was not rectified. I would have been quite happy to fix the fault and anything else that he may of had conserns about. He never returned.
As for the eledged comments made by another workshop concering the incorrect fitting of items on the ute,......... That will be handled off line and in person with the workshop in question to see if they were acually said and if so why.......

Hi all, I drive one of those drift cars that have been mentioned, sure it's a rice burner. But I used to own a VK with a cammed 355 + N20.
Anyhow, Scott works on my car when REQUESTED and AFTERHOURS & he is my mechanic at ANY major event (without pay), He EVEN came to melbourne for the Drift NATS (my car went on a truck..he DROVE me there..)
His efforts helped me bag a 4th place at the last state comp .
In short.
AVS bends over backward for anyone.
Rouge...Honestly, you're an idiot...........please prove me wrong.

I dont know about the situation with rogues car but I agree with him 100% about web suspension, they do great work & are very careful - also the first tyre place I have personally been to where wheel nuts werent done up with a rattle gun - & I didnt have to ask them not to.

Idiot?
For Web's to spend ten minutes on my ute and fix the problem that AVS didn't have a clue about, and couldn't fix, and said, and i quote verbatim "It's normal for holden utes to pull to the left"!
And i'm the idiot?
If you've got any issues with me, or my opinions, please use PM's and stop wasting peoples time.

Thought I would clarify something which everyone probably knows already, Tyrepower at Holden Hill was originally WEB Suspension. Went up for sale about 2 1/2 years ago or there abouts. I looked at buying it, but it had been run down over the last 3 years. Takings had dropped $$$$$. Thought I would let everyone know that the owners who were looking at selling to me, were working with the Holden Hill police station and giving registrations and addresses to the cops, of cars that had been lowered illegally. Then obviously the cars would return for a fee be raised, passed inspection and then re-lowered. Also they used poor quality springs. Don't know if the new owners (tyrepower) do the same, but I know I wouldn't go there.

In all the years and cars, (not saying that I have done as many as some people, but I have done a lot) of all the cars that I have lowered I have NEVER had a Commodore pull after lowering. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. The ONLY
time I had a Commodore pull is when Pedders (check out www.ripoffmerchant.net.au) fitted a camber kit to the rear of my VS SS and they adjusted the castor by shifting the front crossmember. They not only ****ed up the alignment but they also only put in one rear camber kit when I requested 2. They also had to replace all 4 mag wheels when they damaged the rims when putting on the wheel aligner heads. ****ing Idiots. Idiots who say it is normal for a commodore to pull after lowering or any suspension work are generally cowboys at their jobs. Jees it shits me when I hear of these morons out there. Thank You to Rogue for standing up and telling people about this backyard joint AVS.Never heard of you pal. Mustn't be that well known for your good work. Oh and by the way Mr AVS, go have a cry you sook. Get some quality control before you hand the cars back to the customers and you won't get complaints on the internet. Also Mr AVS I have seen the quality of work some of these crash shops you do work for, turn out and I wouldn't be bragging about doing the suspension for.

I had my suspension work done by avs recently and couldnt be happier with the result.
It exceeded my expectations in all areas, and i found the owner (scott) very approachable with any queries i had before making my final decision on what way to go.
Follow up service to recheck allignment after lowering settles was first rate.
I dropped past on a saturday morning to book it in the following week but they made time to fit it in straight away whilst i waited.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody after my experiece with them.
if you are thinking of having work done i say go and talk to scott and form your own opinion of their proffessionalism.
safe driving

Well just a follow up.
Had an accident in ss within 24hr of scott doing alignment and crash repairer sent car to another place for wheel alignment.
Majorly disappointed with the results, steering wheel off centre and when you let go of the wheel, (left side at 930) it goes to (8 o clock) and car heads straight for gutter.
Will be going to see Scott so he can fix this other companies work, not impressed after paying my excess.
