A new option for those in mood for a more performance orientated HSV and for those interested in showing FPV's your tail lights :)

http://www.hsv.com.au/news/2005/track_pack.htm

The “Dealer Team Spec” package will soon be available as an option on six-speed manual transmission versions of the 6.0 litre V8 ClubSport, ClubSport R8, GTO Coupé, Maloo and Maloo R8 models.

Definately be interested to see performance numbers due to weight saving. I guess this could be regarded as a GTS type option without the actual increase in KW's that the GTS used to get.

HSV can feel quite smug knowing they had a new car out in plain sight of many people and no one actually realized what it was. Maybe I missed something here in the USA but I don't recall a whisper of this option until i checked the HSV website just a short while ago.

Basic summary for those who don't feel like linking :)

The “HSV Dealer Team Spec” stage 1 option includes:

--HSV Modified Performance Suspension – a handling focused suspension tuned for the specified Pirelli Corsa semi competition tyres.
--HSV Leather Short Shifter – for the M12 Tremec six speed gearbox.
--HSV Linear Steering Rack – HSV developed, its linear ratio delivers a sharper ‘on-centre’ steering response, as well as greater predictability and accuracy as the steering is moved from ‘lock to lock’.
--HSV Power Steering Cooler – maintains oil temperature within limits and, importantly, provides the exact amount of backpressure needed to deliver precise steering feel and feedback.
--HSV Six-Piston Brake System – developed in conjunction with AP Racing in the UK, this powerful system features six-piston front calipers acting on huge 362mm cross-drilled and grooved rotors with four piston calipers and 343mm cross-drilled and grooved rotors at the rear. This is the mostvpowerful braking system ever fitted to an Australian road car.
--Lightweight OZ Racing Wheels (18 inch Black) – The ‘Crono Le Mans’ wheel is designed to minimise weight, while maintaining strength through a titanium enriched alloy construction. The production process for this wheel incorporates heat treatment plus a special shot peening technology. The wheel weight is only 8.2kg therefore offering an unsprung weight saving of over 20kg per vehicle over the standard wheel package.
--Pirelli P-Zero Corsa Asimmetrico tyres 235/40ZR18 – This semi competition tyre is original equipment on such high performance cars as the Ferrari 360 Challenge and Porsche GT3. It has been chosen for its excellent lateral stability and contribution to steering response. Customers may also purchase separately the regular Pirelli 19” tyre combination for the ultimate choice of rubber for each occasion.

“Dealer Team Spec” customers may also choose the Stage 2 specification, which includes HSV Ohlins Adjustable Performance Suspension (with adjustable remote-canister gas pressurised damping units, front and rear), HSV Tyre Pressure Monitoring system and the amazing functionality of the HSV Driver Dynamic Interface (DDI) system which recently was released on the limited edition SV6000. (The Ohlins suspension is not available on Maloo models).

GM over here is decidely boring in comparison, a Z06, and a few Cadillac V series cars doesn't compare to the HSV's down under and the options that are possible..

Sounds good. Not sure about the black wheels though. Wonder if this is the first step on the path towards aftermarket gear like superchargers, etc...

'Bout bloody time! I can't wait to see what MOTOR can drag out of one of these on test or maybe even at PCOTY next year.

I saw something maybe on Go Auto or SMH.com.au Drive section about that maybe being in the pipeline... certainly it is a way to expand the business without having to sell alot more cars. Obviously it isn't that simple as you don't want to affect your aftermarket guys as well.

As to the wheels, I am guessing the manufacturing process allows for one color, black or black :). I'd also guess that it helps reduce weight, increase strength and keep it simple.

Can't remember where I read it, but I'm sure it was on some press release by HSV, stating the VZ LS2 range already came out with a Power Steering Cooler ... hmmm maybe I'm wrong ... I know short shift is standard on R8's and GTO's.

well it all sounds great, but the picture on the actual site is less than flattering those rims :| imo dont suit the car at all, the clubsport looks horn but with those wheels ahwell beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Sounds great. Don't mind the rims either. :)

What happened to the supercharged option HSV were planning? It was an option to increase to 350kw or along those lines. Is that available or planned in the near future still?

235/40/18 Pzero Corsa (specs are 225-40-18)are about 25mm less diameter than 19's---unless the 19's are running a lower profile, Speedos will be way out

Why didn't they use the re55?

I have 4 Pzeros Corsa's in the Garage if anyone wants them, make me an offer

HSV performance options = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Will be interesting to see how HSV's pricing stacks up on a "like for like" basis with other aftermarket options.
