Hey I own a VN V8, and there is a light, light ticking noise coming somewhere from my engine, I took it to a exhaust factory and they told me it was my gaskets, got the gaskets fixed and the problem is still there. I was wondering if anyone would know what the ticking noise could be? I was told it could be my old Genie Extractors, the Timing Chain or even the Harmonic Balancer that I am all getting replaced anyway. But if the ticking noise is still there what could it be?
And suggestions would be great help.

I know VN V8 injectors make a ticking sound.

I was thinking about the injectors also..
Could it be the injectors are dirty?
Or is it just a common problem?
My mate owns a VL Commodore V6 and his car make a horrible ticking noise, it is so loud its that bad it sounds like his engine is going to blow, the harder he pushes down on the gas he louder it goes. It didn't make the noise until he did a burn out around a corner, hes spewing.
Mine is only light hardly can notice it but I do not want it to turn out like my mates VL.

Ticking injectors is normal on the 5L, but you should only be able to hear it with the bonnet up. Lifters maybe?

Thats right I only can hear it when I lift the bonnet up, it is light really light.
I am getting new lifters soon also as I am getting a package from C.O.M.E Racing, S.T-3 Cyclinder Heads, HVH-890 Cam, Lifters, Chip, Rollmaster Timing Belt, Powerbond Harmonic Balancer. So After I get this all installed I am hoping it will be gone, if not it's leaving me to the dirty injector situation, I was also told each injector had a metal bracket above them that could lossen up and cause the ticking.
I shall wait to get this package installed and see if the tick is still there.
But if there could be any other reasons for this problem much help will be great.
