Hi...............Just thought i would test the water with and question in regards to a "noise" I hear just after starting my car and "Moving away".........
Its sounds as if i have a warped disk - rotor.............It only happens once after starting the car and thats it..............
Was told it was the ABS just sensing it self and it will happen all the time with Commodores dating back to VT model with Traction control ...
I have felt it backing out of my drive way, sometimes left and some times right.

Anyones advice or opinion on this will be great !!!!!!!!!!!!
My opinion is it shouldn't happen as rough as it feels..........Were have holden failed on this one...............ford GT-P's dont do it

I have had my VY Commodore 2 years now. And it does exactly the same thing.
Soon as you start it, & take off, the first 3 meters it makes a grinding noise for 2 seconds.
Holden service say it the ABS sorting itself out.
I dont know how true it is , but it is annoying.

Totally agree mate.....thanks for ya reply......thats now 3 people i know who have the same problem.....well "normal" problem so i have been told.......
Will keep looking into it...............its something that i dont agree with , as it shouldn't have such a force on the wheels ..so to speak..
I'll say it again "with the technology that is available to these cars and the resource info its a big minus to Holden.....sorry to bag dem,,but

I get a very similar noise also.

Get in, start car, put it in reverse, as you're rolling back at about the 3m point it makes a grind noise, much like you explain.

It only does it once, if you go forward and back again, it doesn't do it a second time.

Nice to know I'm not crazy after all.....

its the ABS performing its operation check., totally normal, every commodore with ABS does it.

Yeah. Same story with the Clubby VX. Had it back to the dealer twice before they ralized what I was talking about and told me it was the ABS.
