Has anyone fitted an "Upgrade Car Alarm" to their Commodore or Clubsport?

I am looking for a Backup Battery Siren and Shock Sensors.

Apparantely the "Upgrade Car Alarm", is wired to the BCM, so it is armed when you lock the car with the remote on the key.

Rhino Car Alarms have a "Upgrade Alarm" on their Website.

Can anyone give me any details on this alarm or any other alarm?

I would also like to know if these systems are reliable (and effective) and do they false alarm at all?

Cheers

RoyI had mine done when I bought the car by Holden but probably would have been cheaper by the alarm installers.
The only false alarms I get is if the sensors are pointed straight towards the windows (after being washed and moved) and a truck goes by and shakes the windows.Oh and if a fly is in there :box:

Rhino have just realeased an upgrade alarm module. I have this module in my VY and its tops, works of the factory remote. They have designed a new module that 'learns' the wires in the car ;)

The good thing is, you have the option of alarm you want, as the actual upgrade module that looks after arm/disarm is seperate i.e. you can get a basic two point immob, all the way upto a SMS car alarm (which i have and recommend).

Are they reliable? Yes, very
Are they secure? Yes, very, no car has been stolen with any of the three choises

They have a heap of units from the first production run just about ready to sell (next couple of weeks), i managed to get the R&D version, worked perfectly from day one, think its heaps better to use than having a seperate remote, it also works with the boot ;)

Cheers,
Carl

i think factory horn alarm / deadlocking and immoboliser is enough.... most of the late model thefts you hear about are carjackings or thief breaking into a house and stealing the keys.

oh and comprehensive insurance :P

Thanks FST57L

I will definitely look into the Rhino system, it sounds like it might be just the ticket
