Howdy all :D
Happy to be the newest member of the forum, Ive been lurking in the shadows a fair bit, just gathering info on the awesome LS1 engine, I currently drive a 78 Corvette stingray anniversary edition, although I am doing a project car of a Nissan 300zx which I'm dropping the LS1 in, the Z is actually 1450 Kg's and the LS1 is 50Kg's lighter than the normal V6 engine, making the car somewhere in the 1300 Kg mark, so it should be extremly fast :D
Anyway I look forward to participating in the forum here

Corvette's are pure sex on wheels. I'd love to get an old school one and drop a LS1 in it :)

Welcome aboard. The vette looks brilliant, and keep us posted on your other project. What colour is the vette? Similar to Candy apple red?
By the way, its interesting to note, that while we all chase the ultra low profile look in tyres, the vettes look better with higher sidewalls...probably moreso than any other car.

Thanks guys, I certainly will keep you up to date, Although its not a new project idea, its already been done in the states quite a few times, there are also Vettes (C3's 1968-82) with LS1's in them :D Ive certainly considered the new LS2, although does anyone know if its physical dimensions or mounting points are different?

Your not wrong about sidewall :p the rear on the vette is 275/60/R15 - 107S its had some mild work done to it, cam, intake + mani, distributer.. ect it sure needs fuel injection it drinks like a pig

thanks again guys :)
Hmmm, Ive had the Vette for about 6 months now, I first saw it at Indy 2004, it did a victory lap with one of the V8 supercar drivers in it
She drives quite nicely, heavy on the steering at very low speeds and tightens up at high speeds, the intake mani is an edelbrock Torker, so it doesnt see much action till about 2000 Rpm and revs out to about 6K rpm, you obviously sit very low slung, and there isnt much in the way of creature comforts or space for that matter :p there is no opening boot, so luggage has to go in behind the seats.
Still a pleasure as much of a pain as it is

I've seen video of one of those Z-car conversions. They fairly well hammer along!! That Corvette is a sweet ride - but aren't they all!!!!
