I need to replace the drivers side mirror on my girlfriends Astra, not the whole assembly just the mirror/glass.
Does anyone know the best place to get a new one in Sydney and how to replace it..?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

The only place would be a dealer i guess. As for replacing it just get your fingers behind the glass and pull as it pops out. When fitting the new one push gently in the middle of the glass till it pops into place with the locater then push the others into place on the sides that control the movement of the glass, be careful as they can break fairly easily.

maybe even try car parts places like autobaaaan or super cheap. they might have one that fits.

dunno about just the glass but you can get a whole unit from ozeparts.com.au for abut $120

Kool, replies so soon..
I'll see how much Holden spares want for one and if they don't stack up I'll go for the $120 one from ozeparts.
Thanks for your help.

or the cheapo way out of it is, making a template out of paper/cardboard to fit and then taking it to a glass/window shop and ask them to make one. They usually charge around $25.00.

Thanks for your help guys, I bit the bullet and paid Holden $57 for a new one.
I'll be fitting it in on the weekend.

Gees, there is a big price differance between the Astra glass and Commodore glass. I bought new glass for my VY for $11 at John Collins Holden in Mornington 2 months ago.
Then again they are 2 totally different cars.
