Can anyone tell wether the new commodore equipe that is being advertised via that ad with skaife in it has the same 17 inch wheels as the VXSS? If so why would they double up like that?

Yeah, it does, saw one in a dealer two weeks ago.
Holden frequently uses older models' alloys on later limited edition models. I think in the past though they have tended to be Calais wheels.

VTII Olympic Edition had VT Calais wheels from memory (which would have been just before the VX came out), and I think the VX Lumina did too.

Not bad but the VX1 Lumina had VTII S pac wheels.

I stand corrected :) I'm fairly confident there was a VX model that had VT Calais wheels on it at some stage....will do some more looking around.

yeah
Holden have this HORRIBLE tradition of stuffing up their wheel design
...been doing it for more than 20 years
I had a 5.0 VK Berlina ('84 vintage) with 15" factory alloys
and they were originally from the VH SL/E....
and
it continues to this day...(as we know)
and some other examples...
VS Berlina got VR Calais wheels
VN Berlina (with alloys optioned) got VL Calais wheels
why?
who knows?
its not a good look :bash:
at least they change plastic hubcaps on every new model
cheers

Not to mention the VP S and VR S getting the VN SS wheels, and the VS S getting the VR SS wheels.
VP Berlina LX had VN Calais wheels.
