New "Menace" color for the Fords

Ok, so they've dropped Phantom and brought in Menace. Can somebody say Sith Happens.

Guys, pooofy colours have a short shelf life and they don't hold their used car values at all well.

Black, silver, grey, white and to a lesser extent, red and dark blue, are the best colours for re-sale and they are less likely to offend.

i have seen many, many classic muscle cars with an almost identical shade of purple on them. tho usually with a nice pearl through it

As big dongers said, at least Ford offer a larger variety of colours across the range. I'm for eradicating POOFY colours however I wouldn't mind having a Magenta R/T Charger or a Strike Me Pink XU1 in the CLOSET.

I think on a standard XR it looks a bit :rolleyes: but as mentioned on the XR6T forums I think it wouldnt look too bad on the FPV range with the silver inserts and possibly stripes. It needs more of a HSV FPV vehicle to show the colour, just my 2cents worth.

I've seen them getting around in Baby Poo Mica, Soiled Green and Mandarine Orange. I really don't see what's wrong with colors outside of Red, Black and Silver which seems to be a common complaint on this forum. You want more colors than the three defaults and when you get them you complain.

Is it really a gay color or is there a fear of being labelled gay if you were ever seen in that color car? Well, the labelling is there if this thread shows anything which just adds to the "i don't want to get caught liking that color because if the forum members found out I'd be OUTed and I wasn't even IN".

REALLY its not a colour for a standard car, either ford or holdens! On a show car, a classic muscle car or on a REAL MEAN FPV or HSV then yes.

But I did see an XR8 ute in that colour, and believe me, I had a long and hard second glance. It makes a statement, and even looked 'tough'.

At least Ford have the balls to be releasing some out there colours I reckon....all credit to them.

My opinion about the worst colours in Australian cars? That light ugly blue/aqua thing I've seen in Monaros and Commodore SS's. I like these cars, but in that colour, it looks like it should come optioned with pacifiers, teething rusks and a cot.....woeful.

Well I personally think it is ugly but when I was fuelling up the other day in my SILVER Typhoon (same colour as in the ad), a new XR6 in menace, drove in. The two rather nice young ladys who worked there both though it was really nice and aked my why I didn't get that colour. I have also been asked many times why I went from Blueprint (the electric blue 2002-2004) to Lightning Strike (light silver).

One observation.... Ford, three years ago could not give away their Falcon range. They now have a huge range of colours among other things and their markat share has increased dramaticly.

Ask yourselves, how many white/silver/black XR6s do you see compared to orange/yellow/blue/purple/green. If these colours sucked then they would not sell. And they DO sell so.................

I agree. We looked at replacing our XR6 with an SV6 and were surprised to see the lack of colour options. There was only about 7 options and all appeared fairly dull.
