I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE POLICE STATION , for my exhaust noise DB reading i got 96DB a month ago , so i had a rear resinator fitted and its sounded gay, like a v6 stock :vpo:. anyway it was tested at 91.5DB and that was good enough to pass :confused: ??? as u get a little bit of way for inacurate readings. anyway I PASSED :goodtime:. but it does pose the question of how many of our cars would be under 90DB and i am telling you guys my car is REALLY quiet!!

That's why I went for a more understated exhaust this time around than what I had on my SS previously. I'm sure it wouldn't have passed 90dB since it sounded like a V8 supercar when you stuck the boot in.

The exhaust I have on my Boss doesn't idle as loudly as my SS and is decent sounding when you open her up and 200% better than the stock system. Gotta be careful when selecting a new system these days.

It has said many times that if you can hear your exhaust, then there is a good chance it will be over the limit.

Thunder has actually measured some new HSV's that have been over the legal limit when brand new... so that should give an idea of how loud an exhaust needs to be to be illegal

Yeah i think my car is quieter then a Stock VX HSV so that gives u guys some idea, and anyone who was at willowbank last saturday can vouch for that. :lol:
