Is it just me, or is the performance of the LS2 slowly degrading.
I was very excited when the new LS2 was released, because it ment that Holden/HSV could finaly take some big jumps in performance to compete with the big guns..... performance wise anyway,
The first reviews i read post the GTO doing 13.01 sec quarters and sub 5 to 100k. Now there struggling to do sub 14s.
Any ideas?

and locations, temperatures, tyre pressures etc. etc. Think the sub 5's and 13.01 were most likely as good at gets in stock form.

I think the initial reports of the LS2's performance came from the US, where many mags using a rolling start in their 0-60mph figures.
If they were made to pull a standing start I think their times would probably be about the same as have been achieved over here.

speaking from my experience, mine has just ticked over 5000kms and it feels stronger each day :)

I also thought the same about the LS2 during the Clubsport vs Typhoon comparo in the latest Motor mag. But they did say that the track condition at Calder was fairly poor due to a Drift comp the day before. In better conditions I reckon the Clubby would of done a very low 13sec pass.

Personally, I have no doubt about the LS2’s performance. ..as mentioned in another earlier thread witnessing one stock as a rock Clubby A4 on stock as a rock street rubber pull a 13.1 down Willowbank’s stretch of blacktop in over 20 deg temps.
I am very keen to see what they will run with a tune on board ;)
