Just noticed the little green lights in the windscreens of the tourers at the Shanghai race. Only had them on the 1st race, didnt see them after that.
What gives?

They indicate to the crowd whether or not a car has done its compulsory pit stop.
Where they have to do both a tyre and a fuel stop, they will have a red and a green light. The driver turns the light off after he has done his stop (if he remembers)

The green lights indicate whether a driver has done their compulsory pitstop for tyres. If it is on, they haven't done the stop yet. For the longer races, there is also a red one for compulsory fuel stops. Its up to the driver to turn them off when they have completed their respective compulsory stop.

Thanks guys. An odd little thing to have. Those race cars must be so full of electronics and junk to keep the officials happy you could almost save 100kgs I reckon in race weight!

at least with the lights the driver doesn't have to do another pitstop so the team can remove the velcro strip as happened in previous years...
Your right devil, however I now have trouble reading the fluoro car number on the windscreen when the light is on. Does anyone else have that problem? Or am I just getting old??!!
