Hi all well the time has come for an exhaust and edit!!! Cant wait. So wat im wondering is where have the geelong guys gone for there exhausts. Over the years ive been to town and country for the vs and johnny macs for the vu. Anyone got some good recomendations? I think my best bet wil be to get a sureflo mail order but worth asking around to try and keep things local.
Also is there anyone around geelong that does ls1edit?? My bet is no. But once again worth asking. I think my best bet is maybe to go to see phonsy in melton when the exhaust is done.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Hey mate,
Yer I am from geelong, I have never had to buy an exhaust because the cars that I have had already had a system on them.
But I know some ppl who went to the place in moolap on the main drag there and have been happy with there work, non of them being commo's tho.
But I have just purchased a vt ss s2 and it only has a cat back exhaust, so I am wanting to change that soon with some extractors, so this is a great thread for local geelong ppl.
As for edits, I haven't heard of any1 doing them locally, but melton and melbourne are only a short drive away, so check out some of the sponsors of the site and give em a call.
Cheers
Justin

Cheers mate if you dont me asking wat did you get done?
Dont want to sound like a wanker but i like to do things once and get them done right. As such with all the hours ive put in here searching and reading, ive come to the conclusion that a 3.5 single stainless with an edit will give me a great sound and what it misses low down will be fixed with the edit.
Do midas do there own system? Or is it off the shelf type exhaust?
Anyones thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated.

Hey mate hows it going?
You must live close to me i'm in Lonny too.
I had a reputable engine builder in dandenong fit my Di-fillipo system and its bloody awsome, headers are a Gonzo special, which can take up to six months to have made.
Send me a PM with your number and next time i'm down(im away with work at the moment) i'll bring my ute around and take you for a blast.

I just had a 2.5" system from cat back put on the VY SS Ute. Got it from Town and Country Exhausts in Fyans St.
I must say,.. that the service I got from this lot was bloody fantastic.
Initially had a few problems with the system they used (Supercat).. as it droned like a bugger at 1400rpm at 100km. Not a good thing when I work in Melbourne and drive every day.
I took the first system back to them, explained the issue.. and without another word.. they replaced it with another system (of the same brand), just in case it was a dodgy system.
This second system was a little better.. but still quite bad at 100kph.
So.. in I go again.
This time.. (again without a problem) they replaced it with a new type of system they were trying (Humax)
Lovely.. it sounds very good from inside the cabin.. and I got a mate to hoon.. umm.. I mean drive slowly up the road whilst I was outside listening.. and it is rather good.
The main issue that we had was that they had done plenty of systems to other LS1 Commodores.. but just not a 6 Speed Ute.
Thus.. they learnt something... and I got my nice exhaust.

Cheers mate i actualy went and saw them about 3months ago. He seemed pretty keen on the di filipos at the time and gave me a listen of his ute. I asked if he had it edited and he didnt know wat i was talkin bout and tellling me it cant be done  !! At that time i ran.
Ive now decided to bite the bullet and go a sureflo mailorder 3.5inch stainless system.
Good to hear that he fixed your drone problems though

Hey Mate,
i took my vz ss to the boys at Exhaust Bros Got a full 2.5inch cat back system and i couldnt be happier with it. They will help you out with any special requests and if there are any probs with the system the will help out no worries at all.
I got them to run pipes out either side of the tailgate this isnt a real easy task but they done it with no probs at all.
