Hi Guys

I’m just interested in what everyone’s lap time are on Victorian circuits. I sprint a 1.8 Honda Integra Type R with Bridgestone RE540s and harder brake pads. Most of my time is made under braking and handling, I haven’t got any great power or torque advantage so at the “power” circuits (Sandown, Calder and the Island) I tend to get swamped by the big capacity cars (if it is dry) and I am curious what times the “big iron” cars get (SS & HSV with the same mods – rubber and brakes).

My times:
Winton (long track) 1:45.7 (someone else has done a 1:43.7 in the same car)
Calder (long track) 1:13.64 (maybe capable of 1:12’s with a bit of luck)
Phillip Island 2:03.9 (I should be doing 2:00 dead or under)
Sandown 1:35 (the car is capable of 1:33s)

So what are your times guys?

Well my VH commodore running a worked efi 202, gutted interior, race tyre (semis or slicks), vt-vy twin spots/std pads, is getting 1.37's at sandown

I started a few years ago
1) a brockified 304 M21 VK Berlina with FE2 alloys and STANDARD brakes
got me 1:39 at Sandown..and after 5 laps I ran outta brakes... :bash:

2) a VN SS standard everything did 1:39 at Sandown ..until I ran outta
brakes and a 2:00 exact at Phillip IS (was happy with that)

3) a HSV enhanced VR 5.0 Berlina AUTO  with DBA brakes and decent pads
+standard rubber =BIG smokies outta corners
...1:35 and I did over 70 laps at full noise and I still had brakes to drive home

4) the VX SS ..standard engine, DBA rotors and Ferodo pads and standard wheels tyres plus a Nolathane modded suspension ..gave me a 1:30 at the last outting at Sandown and a 1:53 at the 'Island (luv that Southern Loop...!)
and NO..repeat NO braking issues for the 76 laps of Sandown I did...

hth

Track days are fun!

cheers

I ran a 1974 SLR/5000 Torana in sprints, mild motor, 4wd brakes (HQfront/Commodore rear) with Dunlop D01J tyres and a few suspension mods.

- Phillip Island 1:59
- Sandown 1:30

It was brave stuff
