guy at work has a cv8. just started making a clicking noise from the gearbox area in neutral, random clicking metallic noise.
Since i have an A4 and not aware myself of M6 sounds. I assume its a stuffed clutch, as it stops when you put the clutch in. seem all you blokes have problems with holden clutches.
Safe assumption, new clutch required? probably pressure plate problem since it goes away when clutch is in

Mate I'd be interested in having an answer to this.. My A4 SS had very VERY similar clicking sounds when in PARK or NEUTRAL.. It only started doing it after its first service (immediately after)... It sounded like a slight rattle. It was as steady as a heartbeat and didn't change at all as RPMs increased (so I knew it wasn't anything to do with the engine internals or belt connected bits)... Very strange it was.
I've got a new M6 Monaro now, but so far no sounds......
