Hey Guys n Gals,
I have posted on a few threads but never started my own. I am just so dumfounded by some people’s stupidity I feel the need to vent.
I was just driving home from a nice drive down the peninsula, when, whilst driving down a dark unlit section of 80km/h road. I came across 4 heavy duty reflector polls strategically placed at the top of a hill across the road. I saw them and braked hard but I still hit em at about 60 or so. Minimal damage luckily (Could have been a lot worse), but any damage is enough to annoy the crap out of me  .
I pulled over cleared the road and assessed the damage with a torch.
It’s times like these you wonder why you bother trying to keep your car looking better than Joe average. You spend time money on it to look nice only to have some moron undo your hard work.
I am sure many of you have lots of stories much worse than mine.
Anyway feel better now.

I have seen similar things in my street, kids putting wheelie bins in the middle of the road, and little black recycling boxes (which are about 1 foot high and hard to see) then you get someone SPEEDING down the road and swerving to miss it... not good, although the people shouldnt speed down this road its really not safe here...
sorry to hear about your car, hope its not to much money to fix.
Try a street sign with its lump of concrete at one end, torn out of the ground and then dragged across the road and strategically placed just round a corner.
I stopped dead in the middle of the corner where my car could be seen, threw the hazard blinkers on and proceeded to drag the 30 odd kg poll back onto the footpath.
I have heard of the mini bin’s one prior.
It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid kids can be and it’s not like they don’t realise what they are doing. This does make you wonder how they were educated by their parents.

I live in Williamstown vic, and last night, after working 18 hours: 800m from my place (again in an unlit dark section of road) tired-eyed and......... Sh^t!!! A shopping trolley right in front!
A quick look around (very quick) managed to flick out the back-end and got around it. Don't believe I missed it.
Anyway, same, got out and moved the stupid shopping trolley and got home.
Take care guys- NEVER KNOW DO YA! Wouldn't ya love to catch them at it..........

Couple of nights ago I almost had an altercation with a very large, dark coloured (almost impossible to see) industrial waste bin that some oxygen bandits had pushed onto the road.
If somebody hit that at any kind of speed it would cause massive damage...

Yup, I know how you feel there.
A few months ago the car in front of me ran over a large piece of cardboard, it flicked up into my car, scratched the bonnet, broke the electric antenna off and scratched the roof :bash: . Not happy.
On Friday night I was driving in an 80kmh zone, the council have torn up a small section of the road, add the heavy rain we have been getting here in the last few days and it has made a nice big hole. No visable damage but I think im very lucky it didnt pop a tyre out at 80kmh. 200m up the road they have roadworks ahead signs and have decreased the limit to 40. Either someone has moved the signs down the road or the local council are a bunch of morons.
Its really annoying when you spend so much time keeping your car looking good and the crap like this happens.

Be careful when you get out of your car to move the obstruction off the road.
The culprits may be waiting nearby to jump in and take off with your pride & joy.
Make sure you turn off the engine and remove the keys.

we got a nice surprise driving from kununurra to darwin the other week. coming up behind a 4wd (which normally go slow anyway) it suddenly slows down and pulls over. the reason - a heap of rocks and burning logs that some "locals" sitting in a near by rest area had decided to throw across the road.

I really suggest that no body here try and do something this stupid
A couple of years ago up around Campbelltown (NSW) there was a group of idiots dragging full OTTO bins along side their cars and letting them go onto other cars imagine the damage they caused at 30 - 40 km/h.
Unfortunately even if they are caught its only a slap on the wrist for juveniles.
(and a smack in the mouth for the over 18's :box: )

As some may be aware. I hit a soccer ball size rock with the tonner a few week ago that came off the back of a truck.
I have since fitted a police spec sump guard.
This sump guard is STEEL around 3 to 5mm thick not like crappy tin standard equipment.
It’s the same cost as the standard item but is good insurance in my mind.
Part number GM-92078951 GUARD-OIL PAN $115.85 Inc GST.
