:D

Well the Grange will be 12 months old this Saturday and I am sitting on 99,672 with a full days work ahead of me tomorrow.

Guaranteed to hit the magic 100,000km mark by end of trade.

The car has been faultless from day one, although it did get a new auto today as the original one was flaring between the 1/2 and 3/4 changes something chronic.

BUT, no rattles or squeaks and continually returning avg fuel consumption of 11.5 - 13.5 l/100km.

What more could you ask for??

To see the barge in all its glory...

Did Holden do the auto under warranty? I wouldnt have thought you had much left now. Good to hear the car is doing so well though.

Something said, not good!

That's disgusting, wash your mouth out. The Monaro should be DRIVEN, not babied. You better have a good excuse. I did 200+ ks in the first afternoon I had it. Eeeek, I feel all shuddery.

Great to see cars being DRIVEN! .. 100,000km in a year .. you are a legend! I did 80,000km in about 20 months .. then slacked off over the last four (and had an engine replaced).

I hate seeing cars with 15,000km in three years .. why bother having it?

Because it's easier than walking 15,000kms in 3 years

Keep up the good work Rob. Although you still have a while to go as the WH is currently sitting on 527000kms but by the looks of things you will do it in 5 years. That Tullamarine Fwy never looked so good!!

The Monaro's like my old SS.. I did 2,012ks in it in just under a year - and 1,000 of those were in the first 3 weeks before the service was due.

But during that time I spent an hour waxing and polishing it for every minute I drove it.

I dunno, bit hard to explain. I don't want to wreck my prestine car by subjecting it to the elements and the abuses that a daily driver must endure. Take it out occasionally on a nice sunny day, and spend plenty of time waxing/polishing it.

I guess I was like one of those kids who never wanted to take their hotwheels outa the boxes. hehe..

Can anybody say "Ferris Beaullers Dad".. yeah, that's me. 212 and half way between 3 and 4 10ths...

The wife's car, on the other hand, gets flogged, driven everywhere and treated like a second class citizen.

I still don't get it, I am ashamed. Wouldn't it be cheaper to pay a local dealer to polish one of their cars each week and they let you drive it some 10ks per week. Like calling it your own but won't cost you as much as buying it outright.

I'm getting brain freeze. Uh oh, there it goes.

That's sad, I get that it sucks when a nice car gets marked but they are so much more fun to drive than they are to polish. Get out there and enjoy it, you won't regret it. I had a look at what I have planned for the next week and figure I could be doing close to 2000 kms ... can't wait !!!

Dunno, I guess it's more of personal circumstance. I don't really need it (I live about 3ks away from work), so I can't honestly justify having it in the first place.. It's more of a toy than anything else.

Since it doesn't get driven on a daily basis, it gets parked during the week - and not every weekend warrants taking it out.. So it generally only gets driven every now and again.

So it's kinda like a collectors.... But the only one in the collection!...

DRIVEN NOT HIDDEN I could not let a car like ours go to waste like that even my rodeo has 51000 in 11 months and i never drive it on a weekend only to put the boat in the water. :)

Thanks guys...

Yes the Auto was done under warranty without a blink of an eyelid....

have now done 100,264 and the auto feels great... chirps into third,,, lol

btw re: tyres...

when I got the car it had the 18" senator rims with bridgestone SO-3's.. got 72,000kms out of them. Currently running the 19" signature rims with Pirelli PZeros. They have done exactly 30,000kms and look like they will hang on till around 55-60,000kms.

There is not a single squeak or rattle in the car and the interior and paint are as new.

Thanks for the vots of confidence limols1.. I hope down the track to be as successful as you in the industry. :D
