Hi all,
Can anyone tell me whether there was a limited build # in terms of GTS coupes and sedans with the following options:
1. Ohlins adjustable suspension
2. Tyre pressure monitor
Apparently these vehicles had a limited build.
15 coupes
15 sedans
only 2004 series 2 models.... is this correct?
What's the current market value of these cars?
One more question:
Would you buy a GTS sedan or coupe with the above options or buy an 05' LS2 GTO coupe or VZ Senator for the same money?

Can't help you with the build number question, but if I was in your position (which I'm not, and won't likely be anytime in the near future  ) I'd go for the VZ GTO or VZ Senator mainly because it's equipped with the LS2. I'd also assume the LS2 powered vehicles will hold their value better than the LS1 counterparts, though I may be wrong.
At the end of the day it's up to you, take all the cars for a test drive and buy what you like the best.
Cheers,
Matt

Hmmmm hard one ... looking back I would have probably gone for the 04 GTS coupe which came standard with all of the above (assuming you could find one for sale) ... But if your financial situation allows for it and youre fairly well cashed up, go for the GTO and option it up with all the gear the 04' GTS Coupe came with ... but there are slight differences between an 04' GTS Coupe and a VZ GTO.
You also forgot to mention the 04' GTS came standard with AP brakes ... you would need to option them up on either the sedan (R8) or coupe (GTO) ... Don't think you can add the above options to a VZ Senetor.
Main difference I found between the coupes (assuming you would fully option the GTO) are:
04' GTS: 3.9 diff gears, C4B 5.7 engine came with bigger stainless steel valves (but the LS2 shares the same heads as the C4B), factory maffless tuned, AP brakes are not only slotted but cross drilled as well, larger boot space ... also trimming and paint scheme differences. (I'm sure there are more differences I have missed).
VZ GTO: 3.4 diff gears but shot peened, revised stronger tail shaft, revised manual gearbox with slightly shorter ratios in higher gears plus triple synchros on first 4 gears I think, LS2 6L engine, Electronic Throttle Control (dont feel the shudder on the foot pedal when T/C kicks in like on the cable throttle cars), Dual exhaust exiting on both sides of the car with quad tips, C6 heavy duty clutch straight out of the new C6 Corvette, AP optioned brakes only come slotted not cross drilled (but with more slots than previously) have heard that slotted rotors are more prone to cracking, dont know how true this is ... smaller boot ... again trimming and paint scheme differences <like bonnet scoops>.
You can save yourself a lot of money by finding an 04' GTS coupe with all the good gear (as long as you can find a seller in financial difficulties desperate to sell) ... otherwise if you option up a GTO with all the good gear, it works out about the same as what an 04' GTS Coupe cost.
If you do decide you want a new GTO, I'd get in very quick ... the wait is pretty long on them (they are definately stopping them soon) ... the VZ GTO is certainly a lot rarer than previous GTO's ... but i belive an 04' GTS would be even more rarer ....... End of the day you will be happy with either choice.
Hope this helps,
Cheers
