Hey all- pesty me again
Just want to know if anyone knows how to waterproof a hard tonneau cover?

When it rains - or wash etc, (and especially if you open cover with water on it) the water runs to window ledge and down the holes on either side of rear window. Now when there was no tray liner the water would then just go down holes in floor of tray. With the liner it runs along ridges and out rear of tray.
I just wanna know a way of stopping the water from entering tray - is it possible to make it waterproof?

I think the only way would be to connect those window ledge holes to a pipe that runs straight thru to the holes in tray. Why the hell didnt Holden think of this and run the top hose down thru body wall and out bottom? Patent pending - lol

If your cover is genuine and fitted properly it wouldnt leak at all...... I have had three and they have never leaked........ You need to have all the selant kit installed not just some of it....... They will never ever be totally water tight but there dam clos to it when done properly......

cheers

Mine mustn't have been fitted properly because it leaked at the slightest hint of cloud cover... it was crap. I expected alot better for $2000.

Mine leaks as well but I'm looking into a seal(rubber) that is attached to the underside of the hardcover that seals airtight when it is down. My mate has one on his carryboy hardcover and doesn't leak a drop, I'm trying to get a part number from them but they are a bit cagey with their info.

I'll provide a bit of useless help, replace the Holden ute all together and purchase a Ford one that has a square tray and all the edges over lap on the hard cover so no water leaks in open or closed!

I always wondered how the Holden one sealed with the wierd shape behind the cab. Now I know!

Maybe you could try some of those rubber window/door seal strip things from Raven (http://www.raven.com.au/domino/raven/RPCEN.nsf/e74577f8ef49017dca256b5a0005e4a8?OpenView&category=Weather%20Strip%20(Self%20Adhesive%20Foam %20Tapes)&type=door%20seals)

Hey Rednut - I would rather the tray have its own cyclonic weather system under the lid that drive to drive a Ford that looks like its been cut in two...

Holden utes have a weird (I before E except after C ... and the W in weird  ) shape behind the cab ... you must be the only person in the world that thinks a Ford ute looks better than a Holden ute !!!
