Hey all
Just wondering if there would be much difference in flow etc between a Kingdragon (SS Inductions) and a K&N filter??
I know not many people are rapped in SS inductions stuff - but could there be much of a difference.
And if you think they are that bad - if I changed from a SS one to a K&N filter - would I have to get my Mafless tune checked??

Kingdragon is sometimes sold with SS Inductions but they are a differant company and dont really have any connection to SSI. Both the KD and K&N are good filters and either will do the job fine. Make sure its kept clean and oiled. You dont need to get the tune looked at if changing filters (there is no point changing it btw)

The two filters would be simular. The SS induction system wont do much and you wont need to worry about retuning as it wont be that much of a difference.
I have a 100 mm pipe going down to the quarter panel to get the cold air from below and seems to work well.
In the Vy inside the air box it also has quite a large lip around the connection to the maff pipe where it seems to block the air.I just cut this back also.
Many here have done the second hole mod and if you do a search Im sure you would find heaps of info.

Done all that - cheers guys for response.
BTW just cleaned my filter via instruction sheet - says to spray with degreaser and wash under water - let dry - then spray underside with WD40! Does this sound correct??

I would think the degreaser is ok as long as its not too strong but I wouldn't use the WD-40 afterwards as it will attract too much dust and dirt and get clogged up quickly.

K&N sell a cleaning kit. Costs about $20 from memory and lasts that long you'll forget how much it cost  Just spray on the cleaner, wash if off with very low pressure, leave it in the sun to dry and then spray on the Filter oil. Just don't get carried away with the oil and only spray it on the outside though, it does not need a lot and is coloured so you can see where you have already sprayed. You can buy the cleaning kit anywhere that sells K&N filters.
p.s. VooDoo, they work better in the airbox, they don't filter much air when they are laying in the boot
