Feature Car Section - your view?

Loved the article, great looking car, amazing efforts with the detailing.

If anything would have liked a little more about the owner, in particular what the wanted from their car (i.e. cruiser, out and out HP weapon, faster 1/4 mile times etc), why they chose that option and what they like most about their car.

With the information already there would make for an even better read IMO

Great idea :) Might just give some of us non-validated members a bit more of a chance of meeting validated members at cruises, drag meets etc as we will be able to recognise the cars :D

If you are going to have members cars here (ls1.com.au)
you have to allow ALL of them
....set up a section where members can post their piccies of their
cars with a commentary ..and NO replies or correspondence allowed

I dont believe there was any restriction on who can be on there and who cant. Im sure if someone wanted to spend the time and do a write up then it would be published. Over time anyone thats wants to be on the front page of the site can be. IMHO it will bring more more members to the site, give something back to current members and offers some recognition to the owners/workshops and detailers who put their time and money into the cars.

Well I think it is a good idea. It is always interesting reading about other members cars. Quite often I pick up a magazine and see a nice Commodore and you wonder if it is one of the site members cars.

I agree,only problem though, as we all love our cars there is always someone who thinks they can give them a new home free of charge or modify your paint job, which is my only concern when i show it and when i have pics of it published please lets just be careful we dont want to hear about anyones going missing :eek:

1. Anyone with a half decent ride can ask to be put up for a feature, in fact there has been a sticky asking for interested parties to come forward in the General Automotive section for months!!!

2. No specific criteria has been placed because we haven't been over run with interested people, however it is a better read if its something interesting, either buku grunt, blown, super clean, rare etc...

3. We have a Your Ride section already.

4. We aren't trying to become a car mage site.........just nice to showcase the work that some invest in their rides - if people don't like it it won't survive.

I think it's a great idea.

Any of you Sydney guys interested in having your car featured for the site, let me know and I can organise the photos for you. ;)

For those of you who don't know I own and operate www.HiOctane.com.au ... Which in a nutshell covers the Sydney autmotive scene be it photoshoots, shows, drags, etc. Check out the site to view some of my work.

I think it is a great idea. Only suggestion would be regards the images of the first article. To increase professionalism, they should probably all be the same size, near duplicate images removed, and probably shouldn't have watermarks of other websites on them.

Fair comments Doug. Some of the images were sent to me for hosting, the others have /are being hosted by the site with the watermarks........didn't think it right to poach them.

Good call with the images etc......haven't got photochop on my new machine so didn't go that far.

Will do for future features though..

On Doug's point, maybe images for features should in fact be water marked with ls1.com.au, and all hosted in the one place, rather than linking to other sites.
