Hi all.

Over the last 3-4 weeks when doing my weekly check of my VT 5 litre, I have found on the Radiator dipstick a thick oil mixed with water slim on the top. its only about 1cm deep, then the rest is normal water/coolent.

Its the kind of slimmy sh!t you would see in your engine with a blowen head gasket. Yet the oil is fine, and no steam out the back.

I will flush out the system next week, I hope this helps.

Has anyone have any experience with this kind of problem? Any advice would be greatly recieved.

Cheers.

I find this all the time when servicing vehicles were the cooling system hasn't had regular flushes. Add a cooling system flushing agent & backflush your entire system including heater core. Flush the overflow bottle & refill system using Natra conditioner. Only use etholyne glycol if going up to the snow

You may have a water pump issue - if the seal between your "sealed for life" water pump bearing and the coolant has gone that may explain the greasy scum in your bottle.
