Hi Guys,
It's been a while since I have been here! Hope everyone is well
Holden Sponsored the Live8 telecast on channel 9 last night so obviously there were Holden adds left right and centre... but what caught my eye... and I believe they only showed it once was the NEW STATESMAN International!... so I quickly jumped on to Holdens website and here it is:
http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/action/modeloverview?modelid=7001
I did a comparision of the features with my WH International and apart from the body, it seems to be all the same! though it does look nice. :D
All you Statesman owners out there.... would to trade up!
Great to be back

If they really wanted to make it something special, it should have had a LS2!
Nice cars, but not really my thing... Fast forward 20 years and I'll be buying one of these in retirement though! Would be a fantastic car to tour in.
But who'd buy something like this in a 6cyl... Should be a standard 8 I reckon..

How about a limited edition Caprice? With 18 inch rims, limited edition colour and the return of the vertical chrome bar grille and stand-up bonnet badge?

The WH is a nice looking car. If there is not much to gain and costs a bit why bother especially if you are happy. Some people can afford to change for tax reasons ect.

i agree if it come with the 6.0L or even the 6.2 it would be a better option
i to have compared this to our WHII International & the differance is minimal
is it just me or is all of the 350 WH Internationals in Melbourne

Nice.
Costs around the same as a Monaro, but I'd definitely buy the Statie.
More headroom / legroom / boot space / luxuries etc make it a better buy IMHO.
I agree about the LS2, but in all honesty, the LS1 will do just nicely.
What does everyone else think?

I saw the Statesman International in a Canberra dealer this past Monday. Looks very good, and I would buy one if it had a manual option.

Its a bit of a shame that Holden don't let you option the manual gearbox into the luxury models. I reckon if I could get a Calais with V8 manual, and no body kit, I'd buy it in a flash!
I really like the Statesman, but doesn't it depreciate fairly quickly (and yes, I realise other models in the Holden range depreciate rapidly too)?

Could you get a manual built by special order? It's not like the components don't exist, manual wagons, utes and Crewmans have been built on the same wheelbase...maybe through HBD or something.
If they don't offer this, maybe they should have a think about it. Then again, the market's probably only 3 people a year.

This is great value, and the blacked out headlights make it look very Caprice like. Very tempting cruiser and only $5k more than an SS.

Well, $10k more if you want the V8.

The alloys on this years model are a real letdown. They look like an afterthought whereas previous years wheels gave the car a tough but still classy look.
