Gidday!. I own a S2 Vt ss... apart from the rattles and sluggy feeling! i think its a top car!.. Its in overall very good condition. and im fairly happy with it buttttttt.....

There is a Vt clubsport in a local yard here for a resionable price. Do you think its worth the upgrade?.. I have had a quick peek at it.. And all looks too be in fairly good condition.. trim is a-1, Better condition then mine. (both cars have the same 67,000k's)
Only problem i could see was a little scuff on the front bar that has 1/2 arsely been coverd up!, but that realy does not worry me!

Is there anything diffrent too look for in the clubsports!? Its a 6speed manual, "250" ? bottom line? clubsport. Has the same shape seats as the ss, etc... I dont rember seeing the hsv? scuff plates are they an option?

Do they come factory with extractors? or cast headers? This one had extractors, into what looks like a twin 2.5" pipe (was raining. so i didnt have a super good look)

The main reason im intrested is because of the 6speed.. Im so over the auto!, It makes the car feel very heavy and sluggy... I hate how long it takes for the rev's too drop down if you free rev it!,

Anything else i should look out for??

How much more is the s2 clubsport worth then the SS? of the same year.. k's.. condition etc..

Cheers :)

Just make sure you don't buy it having only seen it in the rain. Get a good look at it in th sun. Oh, and it sound like a top upgrade if you can justify it, even if only for the M6. :) Good luck with it.

nice choice on the car! Mate if the seats dont have hsv on em and u say they are the same as the ss , theyve obviously been replaced with ss seats. Factory they came with coulsons ,(nice buckets) and the r8 came with the wraparound head rest. oh yeah check the diff for backlash as they are a common problem on the vts! good luck

Coulsons are only in the R8, they are the ones with the wraparound headrest, the standard clubby came out with very similar seats as the SS, but obviously have HSV embroided instead of the SS. I know this because I have just sold my VX2 R8 which came with the coulsons. Standard clubby seats do not hold you into the seat as good as the coulsons. Also cant see where paradox mentions that they do not have HSV on them.

Hi guys i just sold my Black vtiiclubsport (hense the call sign) I loved it. It two was a 6 speed manual, which i did have some dramas with as the reverse gear synco shagged itself,Other than that it was great,I now have a VZ ss and i dont like it,im looking for a clubsport again,I have read many a forum saying there ss commodores are better than the HSV (BULLSHIT) Now i have to spend $1000.00 on a diff (better ratio),$700.00 for extractors,$600-$1400 for a exhaust, then get it edited, far out the list is long,My VTii clubby had 250kw (stock) my VZ ss has 250kw (stock) my clubby would piss on my current ride.
PS: anyone want to swap a VZ SS for there VY Clubby

Well from what i understand the VZ SS should hand the VTs pride on the plate. I myself would prefer something newer with modifcations (SS), then something older and stock (HSV) in the same budget.

Quick Question.. Did you VT Clubby have a modified exhaust ? Quiet often you think a car is faster just because it makes more noise..

My SS is great, couldnt ask for a better package. Exhaust, Extractors, Diff, Induction, mafless, Ripshift.. Have not run it on the 1/4 but would predict somewhere in the low 13's.

Shoot me a PM if you want anymore details.. dont want to hijack his thread.

I recently bought a VT SII Clubsport R8 and its a good car, at first i was a bit dissapointed with the LS1 as its so sluggish where my other car is so strong
but thats a LS1 problem not the car, it is auto but feels like it has alot more go than other LS1s ive driven.
its R8 with leather dentist chairs and is rattley like all commodores
its better than the poor mans HSV (SS) overall
stands out more on the road, people have much more respect for it being a HSV and has all the extras stock that you dont need to worry about doing later, bigger brakes, more comfy, wheels, and comes with lots of useless hsv accessories lol
