Been to 4 different garages so far to fill up my new Monaro. No matter what angle I hold the bowser thingo at I get constant clicking and it won't let me add petrol (no it isn't already full). I can only fill up at a trickle.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I dunno if this would fix it but try pulling the nossil a bit further out then press the fuel pump. My gf's car does that alot (no its not a holden) but yeh if you pull the pump out slightly it works. The pumps too big... that old girl can't take it all  maybe urs is the same?? :D

Coupe 4 does the same thing, pull the nozel back a bit and it should work, if you have it in as far as it will go it will just keep clicking off ... why is it impossible to explain this without sounding like a sicko ???

yep, your sticking your nozzle in too deep - either withdraw a touch or don't press the lever so hard, just gentle pressure.

Had a Commodore years ago with the same problem and from memory it
was the breather pipe not working properly.( It was all twisted, blocked I
think)

Maybe check with the dealer if holding it out a bit does not work.

I think its got more to do with the flow rate of the nozzle than your car . I have the same problem with my ute ....but only on certain bowsers.....

Is it a VZ with the tank in the boot? If it is mine does the same thing if you don't get the angle right it can be a real pig to fill.

its to do with back pressure from the fuel tank. As someone mentioned, the breathers must be blocked or not doing their job properly.

Open up your fuel tank, and just put in the nozzle ever so slightly to allow the tank to breath, then you should be ok.

This thread is making some horny I think
